‘THANK GOD FOR ABORTION PROVIDERS;’ EPISCOPAL AND METHODIST CLERGY BLESS ABORTION CLINIC

Some ordained ministers are throwing their support behind abortion providers. Last week, for example, clergy for Episcopal and Methodist churches were among religious leaders who gathered in Cleveland to bless an abortion clinic.

“I’m here today standing alongside my fellow clergymen and clergywomen to say: thank God for abortion providers,” said Rev. Harry Knox, president and CEO of Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice (RCRC) which supports abortion rights and what it refers to as “abortion care.”

Knox, who is in a same-sex marriage, was the founding director of the Human Rights Campaign’s Religion and Faith Program, the first program director at Freedom to Marry, and executive director of Georgia Equality.

Things like this reveal a lot about where these people's hearts are at with God. True Holy Spirit filled Christians will hate what God hates and love what he loves. If you call yourself a Christian and don't mind abortion, then I highly doubt their salvation.

This is terrible. As Christians we should not judge and always be kind to everyone regardless of abortion BUT we should not be supporting abortion clinics. Instead we should be helping mother's who are thinking of this decision by offering our support and help.

Is it time that we just say out loud that Episcopalians are not Christians? Their leadership has certainly given themselves over to worldly ways. What about the membership as a whole?

That is so unbelievably hearbreaking - and not surprising. These churches have left God a long time ago. :(

Is this really serious? It sounds pretty disturbing and very alarming to me. As a Christian, I would never be in favor of abortion. Legalizing it is not only immoral, but it would also make people be more irresponsible.

No has to judge anything when it comes to abortion.

When I walk by a tree and I see apples growing on it I know it is an apple tree without having to make a judgement.

...by their fruits ye shall know them...

When I walk by an abortion clinic I know they are shedders of innocent blood without having to make a judgement.

If that weren't bad enough they admittedly chop up the remains and market the parts. What judgment has to be made to KNOW that that is exponential EVIL as well as those who commit these things?

I was appalled by this. Unfortunately, it's not the only appalling thing happening lately. All I can say about an of it is that we need to keep all of these people in our prayers. They are so lost.

Yes, this is true. We have prayer groups/times at our local church before Sunday School, they are going on the list.

So glad to hear this, Hank! As long as there are prayer groups and others around the world that care about things like this, I can still hold on to hope.

I am probably going to get many people disagreeing with me and possible even looking down on me, but I support abortion clinics one hundred percent. As someone who has received two abortions, I know the ins and outs of going through the process. It is not something I am extremely proud of, but it's also not something I'm ashamed of.

Well timed pregnancies help the child you are bringing into the world have a better life. As I take motherhood seriously, knowing that parenthood is a lot of work. At the time of pregnancy, I was not smart enough to use precautions, so I am definitely not responsible enough to go through with pregnancy. People are imperfect and so are contraceptives. I believe in fresh starts and show nothing but compassion for others. People do not only have abortions because they do not want their child. Sometimes, it's the option they must take in order to save their own lives.

I don't think they "lost" their salvation and became un-Christianed. But the Episcopal church seems to be FULL of errant Biblical teaching. As Scripture says:

For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 2 Tim 4:3-4

At very least lexinonous people who have abortions must admit that it is a sinful practice.

I am not looking down at you but I am saying to you eye to eye (since you say you are not ashamed) and am asking you - are you a child of God?

Of course, God forgives sin but sin must be acknowledged.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

But you must surely realize that taking another human life is a sin.

I too have committed sin, we all have.

You have probably been convinced by others that "you have the right to do whatever you want with your own body".

However a child in your womb is not your own body but the body of the unborn child and primarily a distinct creation of almighty God at conception.

This is Baptist Board and presumably you belong to a Baptist Church.

Lex contact somebody, anybody who is a born again Christian.

Go to your pastor, tell him your story, he will guide you through the scriptures.

I will be praying for you, as will be many, or most and maybe all who read these posts.

    Nobody will condemn you:

John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Condemnation comes for another reason - we love our sin

John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

You will get probably 100% of the members here who will vehemently disagree with you. This is a Baptist board, yes, but more importantly - it's a conservative Christian board with people who have biblical beliefs about life and God being the author of it.

However, none of us will look down on you as we all have sin and we all know women who have done this to their unborn babies, many through the persuasion of fathers, grandparents, and doctors.

You are young - as I see by your profile - so you probably think we all are just old heads who don't know anything.

Just trust me, God said that He knows us from our womb. We are human life - made in His image from before our mothers knew they were pregnant. To destroy that life and to support clinics where that destruction takes place goes against the holiness of God.

God is faithful and just and forgives us our sins when we go to Him - in faith - and repent and confess to Him. Godly sorrow and repentance leads to joy.

You said in another forum that you don't read the bible. Are you a Christian? No, having an abortion doesn't mean you are not a Christian or can't be one. Christians make mistakes even after salvation - big ones sometimes.

We don't desire to make you feel like you have to wear a scarlet letter on your chest. But we do wish for you to understand the sin of abortion AND the love and forgiveness that God desires for you.

    What's a "well timed pregnancy"?

If the child needs a better life than you can give it -- how about giving it to a couple that can't have children, but want to give your child a better life than you could provide? (i.e., "adoption")

"Not smart enough to use precautions" does not equal "not responsible enough to go through with pregnancy." "Not responsible enough to go through with pregnancy" means not accepting responsibility for your first mistake; so you made a second one.

I wish I could say I apologize for being somewhat harsh; but I'm not. It's fully apparent to me that you've been fed these lines to help you feel better about your abortions. They sound exactly like propaganda, not personal beliefs.

I will post nothing further to you, and leave it to Scarlet and others to further discuss with you.

As a product of a poorly timed pregnancy - and an affair - I'm so entirely grateful that my birth mother didn't punish me for her mistakes. Instead she carried me to term and gave me to a wonderful family who were desperate for another child but couldn't have one. Being that my birth father was a doctor, an abortion would have been easy to access at the time but obviously, that was not the choice that was made. I do not believe for one second that abortion will ever be the right choice. Choose life. I like it way better than being burned/dismembered/poisoned.

Thank you for that brave response lexinonomous. I think your response touches on something I've mentioned several times in the past and maybe you can help us to understand. Could you possibly shed some light on why you felt you could go to an abortion clinic as opposed to the Church for counseling or direction?

I ask because I believe that on this issue and homosexuality, the Church has done so much wrong that the people we're supposed to be helping, our comments and hard-nosed stances have often damaged to the point of non-repair.

Had you been approached by someone in the Church who told you that there are other options for you in your pregnancy, perhaps things would have been different.

What do you think the Church can do differently when dealing with young ladies who are in situations similar to yours?
    Thanks again for any response.

You've murdered 2 children and you're proud of it. Not "extremely" proud, just proud.

Was this before or after you were saved?

I have to ask. Do you know the Lord now?

Lex, Jesus loves you! He wants to heal you. Ask Him, with a spirit of repentance and humility. He will heal you, He will take away your pain. The lies you have been filled with from the abortion supporters will not heal your soul. They are designed to kill.
