Strictly about treasure being spent we all know of the 17,000 severely wounded men and women that have missing arms and legs. So I want to ask the taxpayer what is their limitations are?when do we really say enough is enough.

Has Iraq really improved after all these billions???

one example the oil output apparently it is lower now than before the war.

Security is sparadic and non existent with our troops basically in safe harbor(that is good)but didn't we promise a secure Iraq...perhaps more multi-billions are needed.

What say you ..more treasure ...500 billion is that a limit you can live with...1 trillion ...2 trillion to improve Iraq at taxpayer sacrifice.

Of course no one should be surprised that you have not considered the considerably higher costs of doing nothing.

Now the topic is treasure and the taxpayer. I made it perfectly clear you can start you own topic on those others...I am asking what are the limitations and stress on our country if we just
spend and spend and spend with no drastic improvement...fair and valid questions without trying to avert attention with other issues ..I want to focus on this one...TREASURE AND HOW MUCH ...WITH PROGRESS WITHOUT IT..I say there must be drastic show of improvement.

If we stop feeding, clothing, & providing medical care to illegal immigrants, that'd give us another $10 billion a year or so. That would buy a lot of bombs.

Yes there have been huge improvements in Iraq. However that isnt the type of news that the media wants to report so they focus on other things, never the good, always the bad. The stories of those who are there are ignored infavor of stories of those who hate Bush and want to return control of our government to the socialists.

Yep, I hear Rush Limbaugh say this, as well as Sean Hannity, who actually says it more.......

What are the "good" stories that should be reported?

    Regards,

Well, I've been to the Persian Gulf 3 times.

And my brother Timmy has been to Iraq 3 times, in two wars.

    Your turn.

    http://www.state.gov/p/nea/rls/rpt/60857.htm

    http://www.heritage.org/Research/MiddleEast/Iraq/bg1904.cfm

These stories are backed up by people I know personally who are over there and who have recently returned home from there.

I spent 9 months in theater including Iraq in 90-91. I personally saw some of the mass graves. I personally saw some of the torture rooms in Kuwait and Iraq. From 94-98 I made between 25-30 trips back to Kuwait and Iraq. I have spoken with Iraqi civilians and soldiers (many begging for us to finish the job). I have met Iraqi Military Officers that I have later found out were executed by Saddam.

In 96 I was fired at by an Iraqi SAM in violation of the cease fire.

But I suppose none of that matters because they don't deserve to live?

The American people were not sold the idea of invading Iraq based on Saddam Hussein being a bad leader to his own people. We were sold the war on the idea of Iraq possessing WMD's, especially the idea of nuclear weapons. We were deceived by the Bush administration and the neoconservatives.

We are waaaaaay off track and I appreciate the pragmatics and some of them used to be for this occupation now wisdom has set in ...so lets start again.

I know that some of you who are for staying the course are frustrated your unwise loyalty to incompetence has brought about disaster and waste(big time waste) but to encourage even more ..it is on you to define the treasure and define victory.

Since you are familiar with the region; enlist, put on a uniform, and help Bush fight this war!

I guess yer really not worth talking to, are you Terry ?

A-Pal, it is perfectly legit to ask you to back up your claims on the conditions in Iraq, and how you know where our troops are, and comment when you don't.

And if you're going to demand that people not derail your threads, you should show the same respect back, doncha think ?

I think the mods were even trying to protect you by shutting it down after your admission.

Curtis if you are referring to your reprobate hero Ann Coulter...she brought it on herself in her little rant about attire and Jesus.

one she dresses in mini-mini-skirts for all the world to see and secondly her little flippant remark calling Jesus a "fellow" speaks volumes but again I stand on my premise she is a hypocrite for writing the article and for suckering even you into swallowing it...had nothing to do with derailing anything since I commented on her comments.

bro. curtis you are actually admitting to try and derail this...fine go ahead if you are so embittered about your hero Ann the mini-mini-skirted multi-millionaire.No one should respect an Ann Coulter she is a divider not a uniter...a prostitute for money in the game of inflaming others.

hey I liked that ;) mini-mini-skirted multi-millionaire. Perhaps it should have been Ann Coulter mini-mini-skirted maxi-millionaire. I am sure she thanks you from the bottom of her swiss bank account.

I will put it bluntly I have traveled all over the world and I have an advantage over tightly controlled military movements...as an Airline employee I was actually able to relate to the man, woman and child in the street...yes
even unto the middle east.(imho the world is turning more and more against us) And anyone has a right to comment on tax dollars even if they have not been there...IT IS THEIR MONEY...IT IS
"WE THE PEOPLE" DEMOCRACY...so this stupid idea
like a cry baby (insert whine here)
I have been there so you cannot comment is soooooooooooo infantile.

back to topic the conditions in Iraq are in the myriad of news stories coming from independent journalist whose religion is neither left/right but is "Objectivity" in fact I admire any journalist who bucks the bush culture of fearmongering and calling people to be jailed and traitors as those speaking truth to semi-fascist power that will soon pass from the scene as the worst presidency in our history.(unless he does not change his ways and actually execute an admitted killer in bin laden and reach out to his father for wisdom)

bottom line "We the People" taxpayers have a right to speak out on the cost(this topic is on treasure) whether they have been there or not.

No A-Pal. I find it dubious that you have any inside information. Perhaps it's because you write like a 13 year old. And if you had any inside info, and broadcast it on the web, wouldn't that violate yer security clearance ?

No, the thread was shut down because nobody (hardly) would address what she said. Let's move on, shall we ?
