There are 30 obvious warning passages,
which specifically mention one (or more) of these 3 criteria:
    1) - not going to heaven … (4)
    2) - losing eternal life (or experiencing the second death) … (23)
    3) - going to hell (or perdition) … (3)

So, we are talking about 3 specific disqualification criteria for gaining eternal life!
The strictest of standards have been applied for all 30 passages to qualify for inclusion!
And these find themselves in 10 different categories of warning passages!

The adventurous might also wish to add in these 3 somewhat disputable criteria:
    4) - not allowed to enter the kingdom of God (or kingdom of heaven) … (8)
    5) - not being in the Lamb’s Book of Life … (2)
    6) - not being allowed to enter the city of New Jerusalem … (4)

In italics below are those verses related to criterias (4), (5), and (6).

Strict standards have been applied for all (30+14) passages to qualify for the following list:

Be faithful until death, endure to the end
    Matt 10:22, Matt 24:13, Mark 13:13, Rev 2:10-11, Heb 10:36-39, 1 Tim 4:16, 1 Cor 15:1-2,
    1 Pet 1:5-9, Gal 6:7-8, Phil 2:12-16, 1 Tim 6:9-14, Heb 2:1-4, Jude 1:20-21

Do not be a slave to sin, do not sin
    Rom 6:16-23, James 1:12-15, Rev 21:7-8, 2 Pet 2:20-22, 1 Cor 6:9-10, Gal 5:19-21,
    Eph 5:3-6, Mark 9:43-48, Matt 5:29-30, Matt 18:8-9, Rev 21:27, Rev 22:14-15

Leading the honor role of habitual sins which lead to eternal death are
fornication and idolatry … each is found in 8 of the above passages.
3 of the above passages contain murder in their long lists of sins.
    Note:
“… you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.” (1 John 3:15)
This condemnation of one member of the list just serves as an example for all sins!

Be a slave of obedience, obey the commandments, do the will of Father God
    Matt 19:16-17, Mark 10:17-21, Luke 10:25-28, Rom 6:16-23, Matt 7:21, Rev 22:14-15

Be a slave of righteousness, practice righteousness, be righteous
    Rom 6:16-23, Matt 25:45-46, Rom 2:5-11, (special: 1 John 3:7), 1 Cor 6:9-10

Do not be carnally minded, do not live according to the flesh, crucify the flesh
    Rom 8:3-8, Rom 8:13-14, Gal 5:19-21, Gal 6:7-8

Know God, follow God, be led by the Spirit
    John 17:3, John 10:27, Rom 8:14, Rom 8:3-8

Lose your worldly life, hate your life in this world, deny yourself
    John 12:25, Luke 9:23-25

Make your call and election sure, work out your salvation
    (special: Phil 2:12-16), 2 Pet 1:10-11

Repent of your sins, confess your sins
    2 Cor 7:1-10, (special: 1 John 1:7-9)

Do not desire to be rich, do not love money
    1 Tim 6:9-10, 1 Tim 6:17-19

    Be an overcomer
    Rev 2:10-11, Rev 21:7-8, Rev 3:5, Rev 3:12

    Re: criteria (4) …
“And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you
to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes,
to be cast into hell fire” (Mark 9:47)
“Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the
foundation of the world … inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these,
you did not do it to Me. And these will go away into everlasting punishment,
but the righteous into eternal life.” (Matt 25:34-46)
Entering the kingdom of God appears to be the opposite of being cast into hell.
Inheriting the kingdom of God appears to be for the righteous who gain eternal life.
So, one might wish to consider entering the kingdom of God/heaven as gaining eternal life.

    Re: criteria (5) …
“And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.” (Rev 20:15)

    Re: criteria (6) …
“But there shall by no means enter it (the New Jerusalem) anything that defiles, or causes an
abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.” (Rev 21:27)

    Sad personal note:
Unfortunately, 2 of my personal favorites (unforgiveness and habitual lying),
which are guaranteed (in other verses) to disqualify anyone from eternal life,
could NOT measure up to the high standards imposed here, and thus did NOT make the list

Put an end to your ad nauseum error, OK?

We know you don't believe the one offering has perfected the sanctified forever, and that you must also help in your salvation effort.

Your teachings are none other than a false gospel.

    "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

..............But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain;"

The above was spoken proudly and blindly by 2 who didn't even look at the verses.

Plus Steaver, but I'm not sure what he is trying to say ... "keep in memory" ... that's a new one!
And Paul says, "I'm not so sure about you boys, but God's grace on me was not a waste!"

Yes, Paul was always warning those who professed faith in Jesus Christ to make sure they were truly in the faith/born-again. One evidence of this is the warnings throughout the NT letters to the churches that unless a person continues in the gospel once delivered to the saints, then it would be evident that that person wasn't really "one of us" , born of God.

E-7, what do you do when you sin, or as you would say, lose your salvation? What is your next step in the process?

Your consistent appeal to the Word of God does not go without notice.

Some will love your posts for it - others will give vent to their rancor and angst with each Bible text that you post. Just as was the case in the dark ages.

Hope for the one - but be prepared to withstand the latter.

The objective unbiased reader notices the difference between an appeal to populism, rancor and the like, vs the well reasoned response from scripture.

    in Christ,

    Bob

It appears you haven't been paying attention all of these many months,
when I have posted this many times ...

    1 John 1:
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just
to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

This takes care of us ...
but it does nothing for the unrepentant habitual sinner,
to whom most of the NT warning passages are directed.

This dude who is dressed in red ...
he is the BAC who has walked (or run) away from the faith :praying:
he is the BAC who has fallen from grace :praying:
he is the BAC who has forfeited his salvation! :praying:

Good to hear from you again, Roberto!

I liken it more to the gleeful stoning of the prophets.

    Gee, what fun!

P.S. It helps to have maschocistic tendencies when preaching God's Truth.

Might we partake in a little discussion on the following 4 passages ONLY?

Dis might just disuade any diversionary tactics, which are practiced by some!
I.E. other verses presented will be ignored.

These warning passages were written to BACs!
    Please read carefully ...

Rom 6:16-23 • “Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey,
you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether (slaves) of sin leading to (eternal) death,
OR (slaves) of obedience leading to righteousness? … so now present your members
as slaves of righteousness for holiness … For the wages of sin is (eternal) death …”

Rom 8:3-8 • “He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law
might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh,
but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
For to be carnally minded is (eternal) death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God,
nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.”

    Rom 8:13-14 • “For if you live according to the flesh you will die (spiritually);
but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live (spiritually).
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.”

Those BACs above who were guilty of ...

    -- being slaves of sin
-- walking according to the flesh
-- living according to the flesh
    -- being carnally minded
    -- being in the flesh

... were not righteous any more,
so they had fallen from grace and salvation,
and one of your favorite verses no longer applies to them ...

Rom 5:21 • “grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ”

Yes, grace continues IF one remains righteous!

    John8:31 - "Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

Col1:21-23 - "And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;"

John3:7 - "Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again"

Yes, that's quite incredible ... continue in the faith, and then know the truth.

Most BACs think 'tis the total opposite! ... and ... the same with the following ...

"For by grace you have been saved through faith and that not of yourselves ...".
Re: my testimony, I don't see that there was ANY free-will choice (re: having faith) on my part.

I see faith having to continue ... to keep the grace-salvation part.
"For by grace you have been saved through (a continual) faith and that not of yourselves ...".

And exactly what this continuing faith entails is another subject altogether.

ONLY because of the many dozens of NT WARNING passages ...
to think that all one has to do is accept the free gift is just totally absurd.

That no one wishes to discuss the 4 Romans passages in post #16 was expected.

It seems that unbelievers have enough common sense to know that
    righteousness must be continued.

    Bonus coverage ...

Mr. Echo, a BAC in the TV series "LOST" said, "I'm back on the path of righteousness."

Gee, Echo, why bother? ... Don't you know about OSAS?

It is indeed absolutely absurd! Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift. There just are not words to describe it! Absurd is a good one though. Praise Jesus for justifying sinners like me. :godisgood:
