I am not opposed to helping those in need, in fact, churches are expected to those in such matters. What I am opposed to is helping those who are too lazy to work. People are too sorry to work and get an SSI check(card now) food stamps, gov't issued medical card, help paying their heating bills in the winter, &c. What else could they want and/or need? A lot of them that get a gov't provided medical card have a less than $5 co-pay on their medicines and they turn around and sell them on the streets. My brother-in-law recently found out he has a bulging disc. He went and got put on food stamps, 2 $200 clothing vouchers for his two kids, and four medical cards(him and his wife and 2 kids). There is no incentive to work!!

Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.[1 Tim. 5:8]

It is the churches' responsibility to help, not keep up, people. God does not like laziness,monsieur.
