1641 Whitsitt Immersion Theory

    Are there any on this forum that still hold to or argue for the 1641 immersion theory in England?

    It is called by a variety of names but basically it is the theory first presented by Dr. William H. Whitsitt professor of church history at Louisville Baptist Theological Seminary in about 1880.

    His theory states that immersion was first introduced among Baptists in England in 1641 and that previously to that date, Baptists in England either poured or sprinkled for baptism.
