Does anyone remember a song that started with the lyrics:
"I should be a pillar of salt, so many times I have looked back?" I think of this song on occasion but have not been able to find it. I enjoy old school Contemporary Christian music.

What are some songs from this era that you remember fondly?

I was listening to any "hairband" back then, and Stryper was one of the best. But years later, the lyrics to that song still remind to worship the Christ, the God-Man, Our LORD come in the flesh. And my joy, which is to give myself as a living sacrifice, because he set the example.

Of course, their song about the free will of man:"Free" would off-put the Cals on this forum.

I'll never forget the first Petra concert I was at when Greg X Volz in between real songs and his message broke into this little bit to the tune of "Jesus Loves Me".

Jesus Christ loves rock and roll.
    Larry Norman told me so.
    Loud guitars and blaring amps,
music much too loud for gramps.

I was a fan of Petra while Greg was the singer, but didn't much care for their stuff past the one "Back to the Street" with John Schlitt.

My other faves: Sweet Comfort Band, Russ Taff, Randy Stonehill, David Meece, Rick Cua, Whiteheart, Degarmo & Key, Allies, some Stryper, Leslie Phillips, etc.
