Never heard of Petra. Is Alice Cooper the one who dresses up sort of like a witch doctor and paints her face white?

Actually, the best combination would be heavy metal, opera, and jazz, one per Sunday, rotating.

Alice's forebears were actually ministers in a Mormon schism group (Church of Jesus Christ-Bickertons), but his wife's father was an American Baptist pastor in California.

Camelback Bible Church is pastored by Tim Savage, who serves alongside Albert Mohler, Mark Dever, etc. on the Council of "The Gospel Coalition".

    Old Regular...

No...not at all. I misspell tons of words on here. Its a chat board, not a spelling bee.

Apples and oranges. There is of course a a huge difference between a blasphemous ceremony conducted by cultists vs simply by using unorthodox styles of music.

But to answer your question...Yes, that individuals worship would be accepted...if He deemed that that the persons heart attitude was acceptable to Him.

I Never Liked Having More than One Service....

....regardless of the reasons, because in my mind, it promotes and develops two, or more congregations in the church. We have two services, for the music reason, and every time I go to an "all church" functions; I can clearly see folks sitting at a table with the folks from the service they go to. I also get tired of being seen as a visitor by those from the other service.

It is my opinion that when a church grows to the size of needing more than one service, they should simply plant another church, and funnel the members off into the new church.

I know my opinion will be hit with naysayers, so let me say one more time....this is merely my opinion as a pastor. I prefer a smaller church atmosphere in contrast to the mega, multi service churches that are popping up everywhere today.

RD, I agree with you 100%!
In addition often in a mega church it is not unusual for many people to drive 25-100 miles to attend.

My mistake. All these years I thought we were learning how to spell. I thought that was the purpose of the spell checker!:BangHead:

No! It is not apples and oranges!

That is the same rationale that gave us the RCC, the LDS, the WoF, and every other heresy!:tear::tear::tear:

You are correct. Many people like to get lost in a big congregation. That is not good!

    Not worthy of comment.

    Yes, it is.

    Completly false.

God sees the heart, we dont. If God Almighty deems that someone who is felloshipping in a bad place, yet the persons heart attitude is acceptable to God, God will accept that persons worship, while at the same time convicting that person to come to truth.

    My sentiments exactly!
My church went tnis route (two services) several years ago, and now there are quite a few middle aged couples that I knew pretty well "back then as young marrieds", that have since started families & I know virtually none of their kids.
The first service is "CELEBRATIVE WORSHIP", while the second is the traditional 11:00 Sunday AM service.
The first is basically 40 & younger has a few older (~ 45 up) but the second is virtually all 50 up.

The above has the air of a pronouncement from Peter's chair!

Do you have one shred of Scriptural evidence to support that attitude? The Old Testament is replete with examples of false worship not accepted by God, regardless of the "heart attitude" of the people!

If what you say is true there would be no "true believers" in either the RCC, the LDS, the WoF, or any other cult or heretical communion. They would all leave at the direction of God.

father was/is a baptist minister here in Detroit area...

the Lord saved him about 25 yeras ago...

The Lord has used him to influence/reach out in to the heavy metal scene, place where few christians dare to trod... he says that MANY in that scene have come to him to try to "get their lives together', and his answer to them is jesus...

can't the Lord redeem his style of music for His use?

or has the lord decided to just let ALL who do music that we don't like to just go to hell?
