I got a letter stating how much I should be receiving soon...nothing in regards to my wife or our two kids, though.

    First of all...

You had to file a 2007 income tax return to receive the rebate.

It doesn't matter if you needed to file a return or not, you must file in order to be elligible for the rebate.

Just making sure that you all did that....some low income people don't normally file, and that would explain why they haven't received anything.

Got our's today. It said it would be mailed by the 20th and it was received here the 26th. That's not bad.

We received ours about 2 weeks after they started sending them out.

We did not get as much as we were told however. I think it was almost $500.00 short, but it was better than nothing!

I'm thinking the people who had them deposited into their bank accounts (which we always do) may have gotten them first. That's just a guess though...

My check was deposited in my bank account on April 29 (the last two digits of my SS# are 11, so that helped!).

Hmm, maybe being a registered Republican helps!

Meanwhile, my dad (whose last two digits are 99) and has a check mailed to him instead of direct deposit still hasn't gotten his yet.

Our finally came, only 7 weeks after they said it was mailed. Now I know the mail is sometimes slow, but 7 weeks, no.
They had originally announced that people would recieve $300. per child, Robert and Pam only recieved $300. for the oldest two, and nothing for the baby, as if the poor boy doesn't exist. They also did not recieve the $1,200. married filing jointly they were told. I'm sure if most people knew about this they would have filed seperately.

I think that the IRS had some glitches with dependents. They said that some people would get a second check to make up the computation error.

Thier error also includes the fact in the beginning we were all told there would be $1,200. for married filing jointly. Which turned out to be not true. I hope they at least send a check for the children they ignored as if they didn't exist.

We still haven't received ours. We got ANOTHER letter stating how much and when we are receiving it. Turns out I get 600, my wife and son 900. My daughter was born in January (before they announced this) and we get nothing for her. I guess it's based on 2007 tax returns, which is garbage. I wonder how many children were born in January in this country before the filing deadline who get zippo.

What was reported in the news was never the full story. From the beginning, I knew that I wouldn't qualify for the full 1200 because I didn't earn enough.

I got mine this week. We stimulated the economy with about half of it and paid down some debt with the other half.

I got a letter from the IRS Stating that I would receive 600.00 I was like wth? anyways I filed as head of household and get 300.00 and then only claimed one of the kids this year so I get another 300.00. My sis is single with no kids and she got 600.00...again wth? I would think I would get 900.00 but I guess no such luck...so I will take the 600.00 and put it towards getting my van fixed....ah the joys of going through a divorce and filing taxes.
