Another American died in Afghanistan on Wednesday, the final day of September--and exactly one month after the top U.S. commander in Afghanistan sent a confidential war assessment to the Obama administration, warning that more forces are needed--soon.

We should not increase our troop level. We cannot make Afghanistan into something it's numerous tribes are incapable of becoming - a Western-style democracy.

We should simply make sure that no al Qaeda training camps are set up and, when we see one, go take it out.

As far as how the Aghanis govern themselves, let them hash it out among themselves. We shouldn't be involved.
