5 Killed in Shooting at Northern Illinois
It is time for this nation and it's media to realize that our schools need an education that includes religious teaching of the value of life. I would prefer the Gospel of Jesus Christ but if it takes the sharing of time with other religions to put forth the mind set that human life is precious then lets get this done. Then just as Paul going into the pagan cities with the Gospel many were converted and saved. Eventually the Gospel flourished and it will flourish again.
Today's society will give this evil young man all of it's sympathy and the victims will be just a foot note. My prayers go out to these families that have lost their children at the first step of their promising lives.:tear:
Although I understand your sentiments, religious teaching will do nothing for the person without Christ. As I heard quoted recently, "education informs...but Jesus Christ transforms."
I think that we must better prepare our youth to be missionaries for Christ on our campuses. These people need the gospel.
Ho hum. I realize that this is no time for sarcasm but these stories, unfortunately for society in America, are getting old. Another feather in the cap for thr anti-2nd amendment crowd. What they dont tell you is that guns have been around in this country for about 250 years but these shootings havent. There is another deeper reason for these events. Another drugged up youth goes berserk.
I agree with you....this is no time for sarcasm.
I think that is what I said.
I take it that we are in agreement then.
Freedom is dangerous. This sort of thing never happened in the old USSR. You pays your money and takes your choice. <G>
What are you saying? :BangHead: It doesn't make sense unless your saying you'd prefer communism..... Don't you realize we're not far from a police state here and these tragic occurrances create pressure by some to increase further restrictions and surveillance and infringement of our rights!
It's sad that something so tragic takes a political twist.... but this stupid comment demands some response!
I assume that you'd support a police state, thought police, family and neighborhood spys, restriction of movement, restriction of purchases, restriction of income and the state choosing where you live, where you work, what you're paid, and how many may live in a certain amount of space: and a state of persecution of anyone who is defined by the state as an enemy based upon race, or religion, or disagreement with the politics or representative of the state?
I'm sadden by this crazy rampage and the loss of life and pray for all the victims, their families and the unsettling of the spirit of many Americans.
I also find it very curious that the report says one weapon has not been recovered. Why not?
REorter error????? Or strange!
The coward shot himself.
Most of them always do.
They'd go shoot up unarmed people, then shoot themselves before somebody equally armed can get to them.
"our schools need an education that includes religious teaching of the value of life." AMEN! and there are a huge number of parents that should be FORCED to take some of these courses also.
These types of cowards look for safe places to cause their destruction and then take their own life. I can't think of a safer place for a coward like this, then somewhere where no guns are allowed. I am not suggesting that every student be allowed to carry concealed, that would be a nightmare. But off duty cops taking courses, or prior law enforcement/prior military with clean records should be considered to carry concealed. We can't allow our schools to be FREE ZONES for these cowards to come without fear of being challenged.
This one hit close to home. De Kalb is just over an hour from Rockford. Many people commute to the university from Rockford. There are four young people at my work who attend school at NIU. We heard from all of them last night and none were injured in this random act of violence.
Please pray for all the students and their families in the time.
