I was wondering if anyone knows of a good Judgment House sponsored by a Independent Baptist Church in the Southeast (preferably in TN). We are wanting to take our youth group to one but are having problems locating churches that put on the production.

I know it is early to be looking, but most churches that used to do it would announce it pretty early so church groups could plan to attend.

    Any info would be appreciated.

Hey, you changed pictures... I kept wondering who the new couple was.

Ok, sorry, I'll now return you all to your regularly scheduled programming.

We interrupt this thread for an important Spot Announcement.

    Ruff! Ruff!

Thank you Spot, and now back to the thread.

...Seriously, I don't know of any judgment houses in the south. Sorry

For those of use from other parts of the world, I assume you're looking for a production usually put on during All Hallow's Eve.

You're right on the money Squire. It is usually a production put on by a local church that depicts different scenarios such as the rapture or two people die...one going to heaven and one going to hell. It usually has an invitation at the end. I have also seen them called Hell Houses but, mostly Judgment Houses.

There is one in WV that is awesome... They really pour a lot of resources of time and money into it... It is very lifelike...or should I say deathlike!!!

It is about 15 minutes north of Charleston WV.. at a church called Mt Pleasant Baptist church...
    http://www.mpbcwv.com/
I used to take youth groups to it when I was in that area...

Here is a link to the church's calender
and here are some pictures of the judgement house http://www.mpbcwv.com/youth/judgement_house.htm
as a side note... the Hell room caught fire a couple yrs ago.... there were some good sermons on that one... talk about being realistic...

the one thing I remeber about the hell room was the fire, and cages with teens in them bound by chains and fetters...

The tour lasts about 45 minutes with a tour of Heaven at the end... and a gospel presentation by the pastor.

I would recommend it to anyone wanting to experience a judgement house.

Wow! That sounds exactly what I'm looking for. I don't know that we would be able to afford the trip this year but it's definitely an option for next year! Thanks for the info Tim!

It is not actually at the church, but up the road from the church at their youth camp, "pleasant island" It is an island in them middle of Elk River. that the church bought and turned it into a youth camp... In October they convert the camp into the judgemnt house... the last year I was there was right after the columbine shooting, and one of the scenes was a school shooting. very realistic...the next scene we visited was a tornado, the next scene was a party at a home that got out of hand, and teens passed out... and a fire was started... the teens died....

In each scene, a good angel showed up to take the saved, and a demon showed up to take the lost.

We then went to the Hell room where the ones that were lost were locked in cages... with real fire surrounding them, it was very hot and smokey. Again very realistic... we had to walk through the hell room with the teens shouting, "get me out of here, please don;t leave me" and the demons tormenting them....then we went upstairs to the Heaven room...

there they portrayed the Judgement seat of Christ, where the saved were brought and judged according to their works. Not for salvation, but for rewards... crowns that were given to Jesus.

Then the pastor gave a short sermonette, where he presented the gospel.

That really sounds like they put a lot of hard work into it. I will definitely tell my husband about this one!

    A good judgment house?

The local God fearing church. Judgment must first begin at the house of God.

    Pamela,

I went through one last year in my hometown of Dalton, GA. It's about 30 miles south of Chattanooga. Don't know if that's too far for you or not, but I'm pretty sure this church does it each year.

This was the first Judgment House I'd ever been through....I thought they did an excellent job, though I don't have anything to compare it to.

If Dalton is not too far for you guys, let me know and I'll get the Church's name and number for you.

    Brian
