Liberals only talk about tolerance but never walk the walk unless they agree with it.

I hope all of Capitol Hill is touched by the gospel, also. And the US Supreme Court and all the lower courts. In fact, I hope the whole country is touched by the gospel and we have a national revival sweeping over this land.

Now back to the OP, please.

You were commenting on my signature which has nothing to do with this thread.

Yeah but he was commenting on your signature which he considered poignant in this situation.

However, I hope that tomorrow all politicians stop making moralistic decisions and start making purely rational decisions. Democracy is founded on three premises: No gods, no kings, only man.

It is not possible to divorce morality from politics, Democracy, or law for they are all based on morality. :BangHead:

Why are there marriage, divorce, abortion, drug, prostitution, pornography, tobacco or alcohol laws? Give me a single rational reason. Not because the Bible declares it (We are a secular nation after all), but an actual reason any of these activities that harm no one but the person choosing to do these things should be regulated or banned.

jesusisawesome, give me a purely rational reason for why I shouldn't kill you. Because I will be punished by the law, what if I don't mind being punished by the law? Because being punished by the law would make me unhappy? What if I don't decide things based on happiness?

You can't arrive at morality by intellectual reasoning. This is one area where those post-modernists have helped us out. All attempts to 'explain rationally' your moral position will be circular.

We can have a go at it , if you like. Just give me some moral position, without the reference to God, and we'll see if you can survive the 5 why's. :)

This is an excellent portrayal of the left and their tactics, their parents must be proud.

They are the most intolerable group of people I have ever met. It still astounds me that get away with their hypocrisy. Despicable!

Um...there are plenty of holes in your argument, but last time I checked, abortion does harm someone.

    1) America is not a democracy. You're thinking of ancient Greece, who no longer actually works that way (since 1975, they've been a parliamentary republic).

    2) There are marriage, divorce, abortion, drug, prostitution, pornography, tobacco, alcohol, and other laws because these things do affect more than just the individual. These laws are made for the society, not the individual. The effect on the individual has an effect on the society in which the individual participates.

Drinking alcohol and driving, for example, puts at risk more than just the individual. Pornography ruins marriages, which in turn causes "side effects" with all those the married partners interact with.

I could go on, but you only asked for one.

Oh, and before I forget: Anyone who is placing self before the society in which they participate could be considered "weaker"; and therefore, Romans 15:1 applies.

Why do you insist on reading one story and then generalizing it to all "liberals?"

All the article does is confirm what we all know but are reluctant to admit: neither side has any exclusive claim to tolerance. The postings here after the election are proof of that.

Just stop. You know as well as everyone else that libs preach tolerance like a religion but intentionally fail to be such. This is about the hypocrisy of doing so. As far as the postings here after the election you bet. We will never be tolerant of the agenda of Obama, Pelosi and company Any more than you libs were of Bush prior to the election.
