what will they think of next?
    excerpt as follows>>>>

In focus groups, online polling, and one-on-one discussion, Extreme for Jesus has found that the number one reason teens don't read the Bible is that it is "too big and freaky looking." This fashion-magazine format for the New Testament is the perfect solution to that problem. Teen girls feel comfortable exploring the Scriptures and over 500 further-study notes because of the relevant format!

Revolve is the new look for teen Bible publishing

I can't see teens reading this anymore than they would any other Bible. A Bible is a Bible is a Bible....you either want to read it or you don't!

It is not even the whole Bible. It is the New Testament only.

I can see the concept working. I can see it working even better if it were broken down and made into a monthly publication for x amount of time, one book at a time or something, plus it would make more money that way.
If it gets people reading the bible and isn't wrong or questionable I don't have a problem with it, and I see nothing wrong or questionable about this concept. I haven't read it so I don't know if the contents, answers, all that are any good, I'm merely speaking of the concept. (I'd say that if they weren't careful enough to dress the girl on front a bit better they probably didn't take care with what was between the pages any better)

She wasn't done getting dressed yet! She's still in her undershirt.

Cute, Gina. Not accurate, but cute. There is nothing wrong with the picture that I saw. Looks like some kids from church this morning.

I for one am THRILLED to get the Word of God into the hands of our teens. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by that precious Word.

I wonder what the number one reason adults don't read their bibles would be? Maybe a bible should be geared towards them. Oh wait, I think there's already about a couple dozen "speciality" bibles on the market. Why clog the market up with yet another?

    God Bless!!!

II Tim 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 5 But watch thou in all things,

Appealing to the lust of the eyes just doesn't fit with promoting the Word of God.

Having "itching eyes"...And they shall turn away their eyes from the truth

BTW, I'll bet if they had tried reeaaaallll hard, they could have taken a picture where a teenage girl wasn't intentionally wearing something that there would even be a question about her modesty.

While I think this is largely a wasted effort at getting the Bible to be read, I have to ask what in the world leads you to question her modesty???

Have to agree with Gina and Artimaeus on this one. The girl is, IMO, immodestly dressed because she has no sleeves and her top comes down a little too low for my likings. Yet another example, IMO, of Christians trying to be more like the world to reach the world for Christ, who is so unlike the world.

Okay, I'll bite. Women have to wear sleeves to be modest?

IMO, Yes they do. Otherwise they are being exhibitionists by showing more than they should. Enough said.

I wouldn't have noticed the girl's outfit if it hadn't been pointed out. Probably should have been a different one but I'm not offended.

Okay, I'll bite. Women have to wear sleeves to be modest? </font>[/QUOTE]Men, too, I suppose. I don't know about men attracting women with their arms or whatever by going sleeveless, but anthropologists refer to women's shoulders as orb signals (along with their bust and derriere) that attract men and create a desire to grasp and make tactile contact. A woman's bare shoulders are provocative, and a woman's upper arms can be attractive to some men as well. That girl on the cover is wearing a pretty low-cut top too, and spaghetti-strap garments are designed to be sexy..

Tauf! I don't think anybody has EVER told me my upper arms and shoulders were "sexy"! Why, I think I'm flattered!! **blush** :D

    (Sorry, just couldn't resist!)

But on a more serious note, I agree with Diane. I really hadn't noticed the outfit. However, if it IS attractive to men, maybe they will pick the magazine up and read it! [IMG]

Personally, I think it has a rather youthful look about it...a look that just might attract teens to read what's inside.

Yeah, I saw it the first time you posted it. And I agree...to a point.

If an attractive cover will possibly draw someone to read it, isn't that better than just ignoring the fact that some people don't want to pick up a big black or brown book and look at it? I'm not sure putting a Bible in an attractive, eye-catching cover is "becoming like the world". The message inside hasn't changed, has it?

I have said this before but what happened to the Old time way....you know I would rather be an old time Christian than anything I know.

I think this so called Bible is ridicolous and if they were going to advertize a Bible(if thats what you want to call it) then I do think the girls should have been dressed more modest.

Jeremiah 6:16 says- Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.(KJV)
