The real phony is the Oxycontin poppin' waste of flesh sitting behind the microphone. He makes fun of Michael J. Fox's Parkinson's Disease, then he goes after our servicemen who dare speak out against Bush's war in Iraq.

I see you continue to carry the water for the lies that comes out of Media matters. This is blatantly false Rush did no such thing. And at this point the lie has no credibility. It has been proven false.

I don't even know who Media Matters is, but I did hear Limbaugh's hateful words with my own ears.

Then that makes your assertion even more self condemning. He was speaking of guys like McBeth who never actually served. I posted the complete transcript in another thread.

I didn't see your transcript, but I know what I heard. I also heard a replay of Limbaugh's hedging and dodging explanation, which may be what you copied.

MP, in the other forum I asked you directly, What would you call someone who lies about their military service?

Do you think the title 'Phony Soldier' is inappropriate for people who never served yet claim to, or for others who may have served in the military, but then claim to have participated in combat operations that never happened? What would you call these liars?

Because that is exactly what Rush is talking about, not simply former soldiers exercising their free speach.

If you had heard his words with your own ears, then you would know that he wasn't speaking of real soldiers who disagree with the war, but those with made up credentials who "create" a military background in order to give their anti-war rhetoric more credibility.

In this case, he was speaking specifically about a man who claimed to have been an Army Ranger in Iraq, but was not a Ranger, was not in Iraq, and, in fact, washed out of basic after only 44 days.

The truth is, this has been a problem for many years, particularly after WWII and Vietnam. But, for some reason, the phenomenon of men with fake military histories exploded in the 1990's. I can't say why for sure, but I'm assuming it's because of the advent of the internet and the ease with which one can purchase militaria.

ABC's 20/20 has reported this problem. The New York Times (those stalwarts of conservatism!) reported it. Notice that liberals weren't offended when their own people said it, but when a conservative says it....

I suppose this is the same reason they tried to run Trent Lott out of town for praising Strom Thurmond, but said nothing about Chris Cox for doing the same to Robert Byrd, a former KKK leader.

Or, perhaps the same reason they condemned Limbaugh for accusing overrated, injury prone QB, Donovan McNabb, of playing the race card, but refused to acknowledge that just a few weeks before the incident, McNabb made a public statement through his agent that the reason the Eagles wouldn't give him the contract he wanted was because they didn't want a black man with that much power over them.

The liberal hypocrisy train just keeps rolling along.

More self incrimination. If you heard the unaltered audio then you know who he was talking about.

And by the way Rush has invited Harry Ried on his show in his studio face to face to discuss this intentional false story. Ole Ried has yet to respond.

Or Geo. W. Bush. The baloney here is starting to stink. I'll reply more tonight when I don't have to do it on my cell phone.

Nope. The trumped up baloney against Limbaugh is what stinks. The left stepped in it, big time.

And Al Gore did lie about his service, Bush did not.

But we all know how objective Rush's critics can be. Just look at the O/P.

And I don't want to call you a liar, but trying to picture you daily sitting thru three hours of his broadcast excellence requires the willing suspension of disbelief. Or else, coincidence dictates you only listen to him when he says something the left thinks is outrageous.

Actually, President Bush didn't lie about his military service. That's Dan Rather's job.
