    Senator Webb was Assistant Secretary of Defense and Secretary of the Navy for President Reagan. He is the very definition of what was called a "Reagan Democrat" in the 1980s.

    I know that Senator Obama will probably need to choose a governor as his running mate but I would love to see him choose Senator Webb.

    There is some talk of that. However, I know Webb has had some Dem leaders nervous. He is a bit of a loose cannon, very pro-gun, and has had some pr flaps (aide caught carrying a pistol into the capitol, the flap about the receiving line, his " bombastic "departure from his Reid/Pelosi remarks during the '07 SOU response. Plus, some in the Dem party believe he is not true blue, having gone from Dem, to GOP, back to Dem. No question he's an interesting figure. Heard a rumor that Hillary was more fascinated by him than Obama.
