My eyes are already open to the truth. That's why I left Finneyism.

Sorry you feel that way. Let's try to do this without being insulting, shall we?

And how is Calvinism not insulting to Jesus Christ?

Sounds like you jumped out of the "frying pan" and into the "fire"!

Why would saying that it is Christ who calls and initiates salvation be insulting to Jesus Christ?

Is this going to be a respectful dialogue? Or should I just go ahead and put you on ignore now?

No, not really. I just changed my views a little when I realized that I couldn't reconcile Arminianism with Biblical teaching.

Funny thing, though, unlike the Arminians here, I've never thought less of those who disagree with me, nor felt the need to constantly put them down.

Go ahead and put me on ignore. You don't have any desire to hear the truth i have anyway.

I see. So then, basically, you're just not planning on being respectful at all.

    Thanks for the heads up.

So far, you haven't shown me any "truth". You've just been rude.

Jesus will take your hatred away if you ask Him to.

Interesting. I abandoned calvinism when I came to to the conclusion that the most horrible of its false doctrines rendered it incompatible with scriptural truth.

Be sure to closely read all of Revelation 17 along with this book, using the Scripture as the judge of the book's accuracy.

    lets see...

We hold that his death made a definite salvation to those God intended to get saved by it, while others see it as being a potential salvation...

We hold that its the work of God to save lost sinners, to enable the chosem and elect to actually be able to receive jesus and get saved, while others have the Lord 'hoping" some will choose to actuallyaccept his offer to save...

We empahsise that its the Will of God that determines who is to be saved, not the will of sinful/corrupted man...

How does any of that put down Jesus?

Another funny thing is that there are we cals, and the Non cals, but no one seems to want to claim to be arminian?

    Can you blame them?

"Just say this prayer and ask Jesus into your heart" is about as shallow a view of soteriology as it gets.

The sad truth though is that at least cklassical arminianism got right that truths of us being born in original Sin, sinners who need the grace of God aplied towards us first by God, as we as sinners ahve no hope apart from the working of God towards us...

Some Non cals deny the truth of original Sin, that we need to be graced even before receiving Christ!

I can dialog and interact with one holding to Classical Arminianism better then those hold to whatever 'Non Cal" is!

I flipped through it in a bookstore years ago. I had been raised in a liberal "church" and thought more highly of Romanism than anything else, mainly because my exposure to evangelicals had largely consisted of charismatics and Baptist churches that were focused on outward behavior, $$ grubbing and basically wanted you to check your brain at the door.

I spent a good while perusing the book in that store. I must have been really low on cash as I didn't buy it. But it did convince me of sola scriptura and that Romish practices were contrary to the Bible. Later, I bought his Occult Invasion and was converted while reading it. Previously I had been into sort of New Ageish beliefs and denied the deity of Christ. Near as I can recall, I was basically convinced of the truth and inerrancy of the Bible through those two books. I was also hooked by his exposure of a lot of the compromise that characterizes the evangelical world. But I think I may have picked up that book partly because it was next to Hunt's book on Y2K, which was all the rage in early 1999.
