It is evil to violate the commands of our Lord Jesus with and "ends justify the means" mindset.

My citizenry is in heaven, BTW.

    peace to you:praying:

You are making broad assumptions with no basis. You assume that water boarding is torture. That is just that, an assumption. Jesus Christ does not judge people on the basis of your assumptions. Please enlighten usens who are ignorant of Scripture which command of Jesus Christ are being violated.

Don't repay evil for evil. Love your enemies. Pray for those who persecute you. Show compassion to your enemies. Follow the example of Jesus in showing perfect patience to the worst of sinners.

I suspect you're not ignorant of scripture...you just ignore what you don't like.

BTW, Murder or Lying...which is Satanic?

    peace to you:praying:

Will some of the pious scholars on this Forum answer the following.

When Peter whacked off the ear of the servant of the high priest did Jesus Christ call Peter evil? If HE didn't why not.

When Jesus Christ used a whip to drive money changers out of the temple was he guilty of evil. If not why not. They were certainly in HIS custody.

How many on this Forum have plucked out their eye for lusting after a woman?

Since certain keep talking about the commands of Jesus Christ lets put some of them in context.

Jesus rebuked Peter, telling him to put his sword away. Just because Jesus didn't use the word "evil" didn't make the violence acceptable.
Jesus is God. His anger is righteous. His punishment is always righteous.
You avoided addressing them. How can you put them into context by avoiding them?

    peace to you:praying:

I see no word of rebuke, only the command to put the sword away.

Attempting to protect the lives of an untold number of people is unrighteous?

    Since you bring up murder...

Did you by any chance vote for the abortion supporter/promoter Obama?

Behaving in ways contrary to scripture is unrighteous. Having an "ends justifies the means" mentality is ungodly and unrighteous.

How does support for torture not violate God's command to "never repay evil for evil". How does support for torture not violate the commands to pray for your enemies, love your enemies, show compassion to your enemies, follow the perfect patience of Christ when dealing with the worst of sinners?

    peace to you:praying:

You are skirting the details. Waterboarding is done in the defense of other lives it not revenge, or intended to simply inflict pain. It is not a violation of scripture to defend yourself or others from harm.

You are confusing the Biblical role of how we as Christian individuals are to respond as individuals with that of the proper role of government. We, as individuals, are not to repay evil for evil, but the role of government is to administer justice.

When you separate the two into their proper Biblical relationship, you will no longer be confused.

You also equate waterboarding with torture yet offer no proof that waterboarding causes irreparable damage to the individual. Those who are not against waterboarding (like me) do not equate it with torture - it causes no permanent harm, and it does not kill the individual. You will never change my mind, so you might as well quit beating a dead horse.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was 1 of 3 individuals who were waterboarded by our government. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was the mastermind of 09/11. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed boasted of how he beheaded Daniel Pearl (the Wall Street Journal reporter). Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was waterboarded because our government needed to extract swift information from him on any other 09/11 type plots against the American people. Your pity is misplaced.

Those who are against waterboarding this individual need to assess their own personal motives for going on and on about this so-called torture. Perhaps it makes them feel righteous. Then again, if their own family members were in danger of being beheaded, or on an airliner ready to plunge into a skyscraper and be burned alive, or forced to plunge to their death from a burning building rather than be burned alive, waterboarding might just seem rather benign to them.

The nation that is not protecting it's citizenry is outside their Godly mandate.

And being outside that mandate are a terror to their own citizens as they would allow evil to be had upon them.

So, help me understand this more clearly then.

Home invasions are up these days. Many families are held at gun point while their homes are looted and wives and daughters are raped. You, who have accepted the responsibility to raise your children and defend your home, had heard of your neighbors getting invaded, did nothing to protect yourself. Your excuse is, This is not my true home or my family? My true home is in Heaven where my real family is.

If The daughter or your son has not given themselves to the salvation of Christ and the intruders murder them outright, you have then made them the citizens of Hell. Because you failed to own up to your Godly vows as a husband and father.

    <edited pa - LE>

And the nation that does not protect it citizenry is worse than Sodom and will receive the grater damnation.

You are misrepresenting the nature of water boarding. It is about self defense not about vengeance.

The problem with some of the arguments by the pro-torture crowd is that it yields valid information. In fact, a person under torture will say whatever they think you want to hear to make you stop.

I used to wonder how the Inquisition could have happened. I see that there are those who still believe torture is acceptable.

I have not seen anyone who is "pro-torture".But you are free to continue to misrepresent that. We are pro-self defense and water boarding has produced some valid information. But no method of interrogation is always 100% effective. It is 100% wrong however to say that water boarding, sleep deprivation, loud music etc never produce valid information.

The Inquisition was set up to get Muslims (Moores) and Jews to recant and become Catholic. It was not generally used to get information for the defense of Imperial Spain.

The rationale is not the point. The fact that some find torture is acceptable (or redefine what constitutes torture) IS.

Have yourself waterboarded and then you can speak with authority on the matter. Mancow and Christopher Hitchens are examples of those who set out to prove your point and admitted it was indeed torture after having it done to them They only lasted a few seconds.

Remain calm Maggy, don't torture yourself. :tongue3:

Mine is not a rationalization, it was historical fact. You can not get conversions out of torture but information by EITs apparently worked as we were kept safe in the homeland for 8 years.
