I'm putting together a church directory, a Word doc. The size is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, text only. It's ready to publish, but I'm wondering if there's a way to set up the doc to print so that page 1 & 6 are printed side-by-side on an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper, also pages 2 & 5. I'm open to any advice you can share ...

File -> Page Setup -> Margins (first tab)
In the middle is Pages, then Multiple Pages:
    Choose Bookfold

This is Word 2003, so the exact procedure may vary for other versions. If it does, try searching Help on "printing bookfold".

That's good stuff. All the years I have done booklets in word, I did it the hard way.

Will the manual duplex option make it work for back to back printing in teh right order?

I think it would, as long as you get the paper in the right way.
