    Have you ever disagreed with your pastor about something biblical? Have you ever believed he was off base on anything he taught or believed? (past or present pastors it doesn't matter)
    Or is the pastor always right no matter what?

    I didn't think earlier, what do you pastors think of that. When someoen disagrees, what do you do? Do you talk it out, listening to them and showing them why you beleive what you do? Have you ever made a mistake and someone pointed it out and you found they were right?

    As the Lord builds His church here I would certainly hope that people would approach me when I have said or done something stupid.

    I am the pastor and I now disagree with a number of things I once taught as "absolute fact"!!

    Amazing how many areas become preferences instead of convictions over the understanding of years . . .

    Is the pastor always right?

    I asked a question to the Casper Star-Tribune and when they published an article, they said they were spurred on in this investigation by questions from "the Right Reverend Robert Griffin".

    My wife would add the adjective "seldom" prior to that title. ;)

    My Pastor always tells us to come talk to him if we think he said something unscriptural. He tells us not to take his word for it, but to look it up in the Bible... [​IMG]

    I guess I should say I'm not in disagreement with my pastor. I didn't think about it but it could look like I was.

    I disagree with everyone, pastor included. :D

    I love to argue, in the true sense of the word, as in "to discuss".

    I often feed statements to my pastor that I do not believe in order to get a response from him.

    The best way to see if someone knows what they are talking about is to present them with the opposite side and see if they still hold their ground.

    I have found that in "arguing" these points I have had my mind changed and I have changed some others' minds.

    I am just glad that I know so many preachers who do not mind a little healthy criticism and debate about scripture. I would hope that I never say anything to the point of personally offending any of them, but our exchanges have, so far, always ended in fellowship.

    Our last pastor was of the opinion that we should never question him about anything he says or does. He really wanted to "lord over the flock". He ended up resigning once we did question him about some personal issues of his that he was allowing to affect our church.

    Our current pastor has, as he says, "floated a few cows down the river." I never heard that expression until I met him. His meaning behind it was that something he once believed and preached has now been changed in his mind and heart.

    I love having a pastor that is not afraid to admit if he has been wrong, and is open to honest and frank discussion in the scriptures and the significance of the same. I hope he feels the same about me.

    Preachers are not infallible. Just look at Peter. He started bringing back circumcision and other parts of the law service and Paul had to rebuke him. If an apostle of Christ can be wrong and subject to his judgement being questioned, then surely our preachers today are subject to the same.

    My pastor is a great guy, but he can have some thoughts that really butt heads with mine. Once, several years ago, he really said something bizarre.

    Several of us ladies wanted to start a women's Bible study and asked him after church one day to give us some ideas and help us kick it off and lead us into building it up.

    He told that we could NOT have a ladies' Bible study at "his" church because all women did at functions like that is have a "big gossip session".

    Well...can you guess how well that set with me? Can you guess even just a little bit? I don't think you can.

    I was bound and determined to call him on it, but I didn't want to be rude, ugly, nor hateful. I didn't want to sin in any way. So, I went to the most ladylike woman in our church who has the most humble Christian spirit and I asked her if she felt wounded by his comment. I wanted to know if it was "just me". She said yes. She felt the same.

    We both went to him in the privacy of his office and I let her do most of the talking because she is more gracious and genteel than I am. She can tell a person that he or she is in the wrong very delicately.

    He listened.

    Needless to say, we have a very thriving ladies' Bible study and women's ministry. And we have it at with the full support of the pastor.

    We have great Bible studies, women's conferences, and we minister to the community as a body representing our church and Christ.

    And while I still disagree with him from time to time, I still like him and think he is good for our church. He is a good preacher and has a burden for the lost. You can't beat that with a stick.

    And my difference of opinions are just that. Differences of opinions.
