Those brethren who believe in the doctrine of election should have no argument with what Brother Weaver said. Not only that scripture will back it up!... Brother Glen [IMG] </font>[/QUOTE]it is safe to classify predestination into active and passive types, the active ones being God's predestination of anything regardless of man's volition, while passive will depend on man's volition. it is fine. however, come salvation, still would election fall on the passive type, as taught by scriptures. Aki,

Hmmmm....not really. Something God actively predestines is not worked REGARDLESS of man's volition. In active predestination, God works inside the person so that they willingly (volitionally) do what God predestines them to do.

No, election to salvation is active, since people in their natural state are hostile to God--they won't choose Him--they don't want to be saved. So the Holy Spirit softens the hearts of those God saves, so that instead of the hostile heart they were born with, they have hearts that are soft toward God--hearts that will willingly (volitionally) come to Him.

Christopher, if you look back on page two, you will see a link to Gilbert Beebe's article on Absolute Predestination.
