Thanks, they sound awesome!! I'd love to hear them in person, that music brings back memories! </font>[/QUOTE]Then that ought to tell you, your youth group could be like this one, having the touch of God, empowered by the Spirit. The next opportunity to hear them will be in June at Faith Baptist Camp. The dates are in the website, I apologize the link wasn't there, it was the other day to the one above.

Of course they can be heard at Concord Missionary Baptist in Calhoun, Ga. Dr. Sammy Allen is the pastor, and that would give more the feel for the entire work, not just singling out the youth choir. I would have to say this church is one of about 4 churches I know, they are few and far between, but that's NOT God's fault!

I'll see if I can find a link, but this youth group is the outcome influenced by a revival that has continued since the 1980's. WOW! Revival is what we need!

I believe our youth need to see the real aspect of living for God and get rid of the entertainment mentality.

    RE 1 Chronicles 26

    Close but no cigar.

Well, my point is we have to know exactly and precisely what a passage is saying in English before it can be determined if there is a translational error in it.

I thought 1 Chronicles 26 would be a good place to start in the KJV. We can go on to another after you tell us precisely what this passage is saying.

    Here's a start:

    What's a Parbar?
Ya, I know, a bar where they sell pars.

UMMMPH! Just when I ran out of halo wax! Got any to spare?

I believe the attitudes exhibit grace, even when our views are challenged, along with a simple jest or two, but that is not meant to be a derogative, just a little provoking to excite the intelligence to study a little deeper, get ahold of the horns of the altar, get right with God. You know, so we won't be so judgemental?

I can't remember who said it; "I never learned anything from some one I agreed with" Any body know?

    Truman? Lincoln? or the like?

Singleman, put on your best robe and jump on in! Don't settle for just getting your feet wet. (First you better polish that halo of yours) :D ;)

Psalms 119:165 Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.

What do you love? Please don't be offended. [IMG]

27: If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.
28: But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God. ;)

Ever look at the debate strategies Jesus used and the words he spoke?

Ever read the words Paul wrote to the churches?

What part of "In the beginning" don't you understand? What part of "For God so loved the world" don't you understand. Your penchant for misinformation does as much damage to your position as Ruckman's does for his. You are the same in that category.

I really HATE the idiotic restrictions on editing your own posts on this board! Good grief! Talk about anal retentive! The second sentence should end with a question mark (?) not a period (.) but the board's idiotic restrictions won't allow me to edit it!
     :(

If you knew what "charismatic Baptist" was
you wouldn't have used the [IMG] symbol.
It is a regular Baptist symbol: one hand
waving; not the carismatic Baptist symbol:
    two hands waving [IMG]

    [IMG] (non-carismatic Baptist symbol)

    I was called by God
    to discuss Bible Versions here.
I have been a Christian for 52 years.
If you have a problem with that, tell
it to my Boss, the Carpenter of Nazereth.

This is a retorical question and need
    not be answered here:
    Were you called to criticize?

For the same reason that the Ethiopian Eunuch needed a preacher to understand the things he read from the Word of God.

Acts 8:26 And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.
27 And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,
28 Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.
29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.
30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?
31 And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him. (KJV)

The Bible is very clear about the importance of preaching, both to the lost and the saved. Preaching is God's avenue to get His message to the world.

Titus 1:3 But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour; (KJV)

skan, as usual, history will repeat itself. The Vulgate Latin was fine for 400AD but as the years/centuries rolled by Latin turned to Italian.

Same-O with 1611 English. More and more of the KJB is becoming unintelligible and lost to the 21st century English speaker. Ten percent today, someday soon , half? Then what?

Everyone knows what a monument to the preservation of the Word of God the KJB has been and some don't want to let it go. Problem, modern mankind needs the Word of God the way He intended from the beginning, in the language of life, not of 400 year old books.

OK then lets get a good translation of the TR or do a TRUE upgrade of the KJB for the 21st century English speaker. Then people will have a choice. TR in modern English or Eclectic in the same.

IMO, beating the KJVO drum gets nobody anywhere.

Finally, I couldn't agree with you more!! I have been trying to steer our youth toward more service and sacrifice than toward fun and entertainment. We have a mission trip planned for this summer, that will be geared toward helping the poor. Some wanted to go to beach week this year like they have in the past, but I feel God leading us down the road to mission work, service, and sacrifice this year.
We have the fellowship part right, We have the worship right, now's the time to tweek the mission and ministry side of it.

I did like the youth choir you suggessted. I downloaded a few of their samples and listened to them.
Our Youth choir began last Sept. and I am directing it. We sing songs that glorify God. And our choir sings loud too. Although it's not as big as that one (about 14, most teens sing in adult choir, which is also awesome) We enjoy singing to the Lord. We sing old camp meeting songs, mixed in with southern gospel, mixed in with contemporary praise and worship. I want my youth to experience and enjoy all that is praising God. I am teaching them now four part harmony.

Ok, enough talk about stuff we agree on...

After all this is a DEBATE forum!!!
let's get back to, what was it we were described as?

Oh yeah, "egotistical, boastful, sarcastic, self-promoting behavior"

So QS, do you ever use a MV for any reason?
