Let's look at all this from another angle.

Sin entered the world through Adam.

But Eve sinned first. Nevertheless, because she was deceived, sin is not 'credited' to her the way it is to Adam, who knew exactly what he was doing.

Both were guilty of doing the same thing. But sin did not enter the world because of Eve, who sinned first, but because of Adam.

Eve was deceived, sinned, and thus became a sinner. Adam was not deceived, sinned anyway, and not only became a sinner, but is held responsible for the sin nature of the entire human race.

If a child is deceived by an adult, and thus does something which is sinful as a result, who is to blame?

And yet, had Adam not sinned Eve would still have slidden right into hell.

She is still accountable, and womankind still carries the stigma of ushering sin into the world.

1 Tim. 2:14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

    You don't know that, Aaron.

That's not what the Bible says. The Bible says that by one MAN sin entered the world...

Excellent point Helen. Paul clearly says:
    1 Tim 2:14-15
And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.
But women will be preserved through the bearing of children if they continue in faith and love and sanctity with self-restraint.

Aaron I do believe it is the woman who ushers in Christ, the savior. And you are making the grave mistake that sin causes people to go to hell. It is the rejection of the atonement for that sin. And in this case, God made coats of skin for Adam and Eve. Not just Adam. We must conclude then that Eve would not have been left in her sin, without a savior, and go to hell.

    Dear Helen,

    You asked...

IMO it is related to the knowledge and accountability of both the adult and the child.

The child is accountable and that acountability ranges from none to perhaps equal to that of the adult.

The child's accountability is related to his/her ability to discern good and evil which is generally related to the age of the child.

Overall, I would say the adult has the blame, by reason of taking advantage of the vulnerability of the child.

Luke 17:1 Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!
2 It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.

Luke 12: 47 And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

    Helen and Chet,

The soul that sinneth, it shall die, Ez. 18:4, 20.

The wages of sin is death, Rom. 6:23.

I'm afraid it is you that are gravely mistaken about many things. It appears that you have need that one teach you again those things which be the first principles of the oracles of God.

Yeah, I don't know why so-called conservatives reject the plain meaning of passages in favor of sloppy sentamentalism.

I'm not sure the snide comments were called for. I posted something for discussion. It is only recently I took a good look at Eve and her part in everything. Going back to Genesis and then forward into the New Testament to review what was written again and then coming here and asking a question and presenting some of what I had been thinking.

If this makes it necessary for me to learn the elementary things all over again, then we are all perhaps in trouble, for what I think that person was saying was because I might not agree with what he has come to understand that I somehow have lost my understanding of the Bible, of Christ, and of Christian principles.

I don't think it's as bad as all that...

I am with you Helen. I think the comments were self-righteous and certainly uncalled for. And also made in complete ignorance.
