I was going to post this in the creation/evolution thread, but it archive/read only.

Since I was a child, I have been intrigued with science fiction/dinosaurs.

This carried through as I grew older so I became a student of the Book of Revelation. Not because I considered it science fiction, but because it was science fact. It was real and it blows away any science fiction story ever told.

A few years ago a friend gave me some of Kent Hovinds creation science tapes to watch. This was the first time I had been introduced to creation science and it was about the same time I decided become a hot Christian instead of a cold one. It was the time I decided to let Gods will into my life.

What a wonderful world I discovered through Bro. Hovind. Being a dinosaur nut, I was ecstatic of the pre-flood world! What a place God had created for us! Perfect in everyway, from the atmosphere, to the water system, to the climate...perfect.

So, this leads me to this question. How long do you think Adam and Eve fellowshipped with God in the Garden before the the fall?

Bro. Hovind has a theory that it might have been about 100 or so years, but of course he says there is no way to prove it, but it is what he thinks.

I understand there is no definate answer, but I like to discuss these things, it's in my nature!

There had to be length of time for Lucifer to become jealous of Gods relationship with Man.

    Any thoughts?

    Jeff

As Jeff says, the Bible doesn't say how long! It could very well have been 100 years like Hovind's theorizes! Of course, it could have been a thousand---it could have been 100 months or days or hours! We don't know!

But how about this!?? Start from Day 6 when God created Adam and Eve! And then work forward from there!

On Day 7 God rests! I believe Day 7 was what I call "Holy Day" unto the Lord! Adam and Eve are resting with God!

On Day 8(which is really the first day of the new week)---Adam and Eve went to work! Possible that the "trouble" starts right here! Possible!

But I'm anxious to hear how others are theorizing like Jeff and I!

    Anybody?

Somewhwere between the eighth day and 130 years with enough time before the 130th year for Cain and Able to have their story unfold.

[IMG]5:3 And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth

How long do you think it took for Eve to get pregnant? Since all the offspring were born with the sin nature, they could not have been in the garden for very long unless Adam did not "know" Eve; do you think?

This being the case, my guess would be less than a month, and more likely just a few days!

Gen 3:24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.
Gen 4:1 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.

If you want to persue this to it's logical conclusion (INFERRED), then maybe they were there only days 6 & 7, with 7 being debatable.

Now if anyone thinks I'm being a bit demanding re: a short time, just think back to YOUR marriage & honeymoon!

:D Good point. Going by MY personal degree of depravity, I'd be surprized if they made it past Tuesday but, I was giving them the benefit of perhaps not having degenerated as low as me.

It also says that 1000 years is as a watch in the night (PS 90) which is four hours. What's your point?

Would agree that Adam knew Eve and she conceived. If her normal cycle was like today, that wouldhave given them about 14 days of sexual union BEFORE conception.

In a perfect world and perfect environment, I would think reproduction (the command given to them by God) would be a high priority!

I have heard a preacher who believes they 'abode' for only one day and he believes this is taught in the Psalms and that the Jews believed this, can't remember which one, maybe 90?

Anyway, I believe Spurgeon also preached that man [Adam] broke the rest of God, on the seventh day.

I agree there is no way of knowing for sure. But I doubt it was very long. But then again, if you are not careful, seems you would be getting into the 'gap' theory here as well. But I have always believed Adam didn't know Eve until after the fall, at least this is the chronology of Scripture.

Jeff, how does Bro. Hovind come up with the hundred years theory? What does he base it on? I don't think that I have ever heard anyone discuss this..of course it could be that I just live a sheltered life!

Doesn't the Bible say that Adam was about 30 years old when Cain was born? If I'm remembering right than it would have been less than 30 yrs that the two were in the Garden before the Fall.

If I'm not correct than I don't know! lol

Not that I know of. It just says that he was 130 when his third child Seth was born.

The bible doesn't say how long they were there. I doubt it was very long though. It doesn't take very long for the devil to begin to tempt people.
