If a church charges then does it become a business subject to taxes?

Ever the Democrat, CTB's first concern isn't the purity of the Gospel and its presentation, but whether or not something can be taxed.

Four kibbitzes: "God does not dwell in temples made with hands..."

    Church is not entertainment.

Before you buy season tickets for your alma mater, read what Tertullian taught about games and such--see T. and the games on the www.

"Whatsoever is not of The Faith is sin".

    Selah,

    Bro. James

P.S. The Gospel is free--the price we could not pay was paid--with innocent blood. God will provide our needs. Why do we try to run a church like a business?

I would think that any Christian would be concerned about doing something that might cause a church to loose its tax status. The concern has nothing to do with the purity of the gospel, but the rational use of the church and its resources. Where is the faith? Why not a free-will offering?

    Unrelated question:

Can a calvinist even take up a "free-will offering?"

    Never mind. Carry on.

    :D

    This is an unfair comment.

Wow! Everything was fine on this thread till you showed up. CTB simply ask a pertinent question and, of course, you have to throw in an insult.

As far as the OP goes, for a church to charge money is wrong in my opinion. If a church is planning to do something that requires them to charge money, they shouldn't do it.

If the church cannot fund it, they shouldn't do it!
