Okay here's the deal. I am a 17 year old preacher. In my position, I have a lot of people's trust. The majority of guys I know are too prideful to come to me with their problems, but not so with the girls.

There are lots of younger girls who like me a lot. I meet very many great girls who have there head on right as far as dating is concerned, but I shy away because of there age. I know that people will look down upon me if I spend too much time with a younger girl, but I really like a some of them.

There is one particular girl right know who is 14 and I just turned 17. What should I do?

Where do you preach, Josh? Do you live with your parents? Are you a pastor? Where do you go to church? Your parents and your pastor are your first human line of defense. Seek their counsel.

im going through the same thing with a girl i like. She is 14 (its not kim for those who read my other posts on my thread) and im 16. When im 17 she'll be 15. In normal circumstances it would be fine for you do date her later on after you get to know her better, but i can see where your coming from> with you being a preacher or paster or whatever you may be. My adivce is do what i did. Pray about it, long and hard. Eventually things will work out. if you really like her and have feelings for her, then things will work out, if you are meant to be. It shouldn't matter the age difference but get to know her more.

You're young. Don't feel that you need to rush into anything too quickly. You are also at or approaching a transitional point in your life where you will be legally considered an adult. Different people mature differently but as recognized you will be expected to conform to those standards. There may be little age difference maybe only two to three years between yourself and your potential. But there is a drastic difference between a 35 year old dating a 25 year old, and a 17 year old dating someone thats 14. In the former situation both are adults and should be reasonably mature in certain aspects of their lives. At 14-15 years old you have to relaize that only a couple of years ago these young females packed away the barbies and such, and cannot really be expected to provide much other than a general distration in the way of a potential other. Do Gods work and enjoy your life and let what happens happen. If its the right thing for you he will make a way, but in todays day and age I would estimate that he's got some foundational work to do on you in the meantime.

One problem you will face when you turn 1 is those who are underage. Be careful.

My advice. Don't be so foolish... Dating a girl that age is insanity. Exspecially if you are a preacher for pete sakes. Shake the dust off man and get your head on strait!!!!

This young lady is just that. A young lady. And you're seventeen. That's pretty young as well.
You don't need to be in ANY hurry. Three years is nothing really when you're in your twenties, but when you're teenagers it is.
And if you're her preacher/pastor and date this young lady you're going to raise a whole lot of eyebrows!
Lord willing, you and her both will have a long life ahead to live, and rushing into something now wouldn't be wise.
I REALLY think you should wait till she's older, and concentrate on serving the Lord right now.
In God's time He will provide someone for you, and even if you don't met her till you're thirty, it will be ok.
If this young girl is the one God has for you, and you truely care for her, then you'll still feel the same in a few years.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I think my gameplan is to do nothing. If God wants us to be we will.

By the way, she's not one of my youth. She goes to another church.
