The Senate is about to allow passengers to carry weapons aboard Amtrak-
The bill only allows them to be unloaded in checked bags.
Yep. I would feel much safer if everyone packed heat.
I selected "other" - I'll explain.
I think a person with a CHL in their state of residence should be allowed to carry it, otherwise have it in their baggage.
I know that would get kinda sticky - the train may pass through states that don't allow concealed carry at all. I don't quite know how THAT would be handled. I have a Texas CHL, but if I stepped off the train in a state that doesn't reciprocate, or a state like Illinois where I don't have a FOID, then what?
Anyway, as has been pointed out, the bill only covers having the guns in checked baggage.
Which states don't have "peacable journey" laws?
