    Psalm 116:11 KJV
I said in my haste, All men are liars.

    James 3:8 KJV
But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

Do these give permission for the saint, who is a man, to abound in iniquity in the tongue? If all men are liars, and if I, being a man, cannot tame the tongue, why bother fighting against inevitability?

I have thought, that proverbs 21:8 gives us an insight into these verses, as a key fits nicely into its proper designation to unlock perplexity.

    KJV
The way of man is froward and strange: but as for the pure, his work is right.

The proverb distinguishes between the man, and the pure.

And so, this leaves us with the possibility that the pure are free from such iniquity.

1 Timothy 1 NASB, bold emphasis mine
5 But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.
