What happened to all of the threads
I'm back down to the 5,000 club! :tonofbricks:
I lost some too . . .
more than I thought.
I'd lost some earlier.
Lost some more when I saw that number.
I think this is a bug that can be fixed. If someone had a hankerin' to fix it.
I lost over 2,000 posts myself. :type:
I was 'pruning' today. Most of the threads I deleted were from 2006...
Bitsy, I think you're right. Under the old format, no one lost posts when threads were deleted.
Why would any threads be deleted? I thought they were archieved?
Meaningful threads are archived, but 'fluff' threads are deleted.
Archiving threads does not help out with the bandwidth.
There are still 10 pages left in All Other Discussions forum.
Are you sure you didn't delete posts from 2007? In all other discussions there is the two stickys and one current thread started yesterday. The next most current thread back to Aug. of 2007.
Oh my goodness! I didn't look at the dates after I read this thread, I just made sure everything wasn't deleted.
I see now that somehow the newer threads were deleted. I'm not sure how that happened as I was working from the last pages, not the first.
My sincere apologies! I didn't receive a manual with this promotion. I think I need to buy a copy of "Administrator for Dummies"!!!
I hope nothing was deleted that can't be restarted. I truly am sorry! Please forgive me everyone. raying:
On my end anyway.
I got into "trouble" for moving a thread on one of the boards I moderate instead of moving part of thread. And those were my thoughts too -- no manual.
One thing to think about that might help with the post numbers going up and down is to have forums where the post numbers don't go into the post count. I think that's been mentioned by someone, but it's done on one of the teacher forums I'm on. Everyone knows if they play a game, post a recipe, or several other things, it doesn't effect their post count.
NO editing on this forum!
One more thought --
Of course the person who would do this is probably the same person who could fix reversing post number BUG
