Statement attributed to Allen West regarding Marines urinating on Taliban corpses:
These guys were wrong. No past atrocities caused by the enemy gives them the right to commit these kinds of acts. They need to be dishonorably discharged for this. Boys like this are the ones that anti-military liberals point at and condemn the whole military for.
Glad you posted this. I agree, but since I have never been shot at by the Taliban I would have been chastised for my thoughts.
Ironically, right after I posted, my squad leader came in with a printed out power point presentation on the "Law of Armed Conflict" and the "Rules of Engagement". It's main focus was the proper treatment of prisoners and the dead, including how we are to give Muslims a proper burial.
I had to go read it to my whole squad, and we all had to sign a sheet saying that we had been taught the information. It basically releases our supervisors of responsibility in the case any of us do something stupid. "I told him not to"
I am disgusted by the actions of these Marines.
Allen West was a Lt. Colonel in the Army, who gave up his commision due to an investigation into how a prisoner was treated under his supervision.
Now I respect Allen West, and like him, as a man. He seems to be doing a good job for Florida. But people need to consider the source.
I have not been shot at by the Taliban but you are wrong! The leftists in this country need no excuse to dump on the military and, for that matter, the country!
Yea, if it wasn't for the liberals, you wouldn't be able to tell our world from heaven. They would both be perfect.
and he said he would do it again - to protect his men. He went on to say that after that incident - there was no trouble in his sector - until after he left.....
If there wasn't any trouble, how did he get prisoners ?
Abuse of a corps is both an immoral and criminal act.
However, even more disgusting than urinating on a dead man is Col West's attempt to deny multiple millions of people the right to free speech. Let's see...how many of us have been shot at by the Taliban?
Define "shot at." Do you mean, a Taliban had a rifle that he shot at you? Or did you dodge a rocket that was fired by an insurgent/Taliban? Or a mortar? Or an IED that an insurgent/Taliban triggered, or left to be triggered by a pressure plate or other device?
Ok..where did he work to deny free speech?
He's trying to equate West's last statement (if you haven't been shot at by the Taliban, shut your mouth) as a denial of free speech.
I thought as much but wanted to give him room for something substantial. And that is not a denial of free speech.
Oh, my apologies, I forgot that Allen West was a Colonel and is a fascist-state mini-dictator, so he has the constitutional right to tell people to shut up. My bad.
Both sides are hyping this up. What he said has probably been said by 10,000 people. It doesn't make him right, but it doesn't make it all that newsworthy, either.
Telling people to shut up does not come close to facism. He is not trying to force that on anyone, he is only expressing his view.
I can tell you from experience that a Colonel is a first-order fascist dictator. Maybe he sometimes forgets that he is no longer wearing the uniform.
Thanks fro clearing up your clack of credibility.
