Wow.. .my DSL goes down for a day, and this thread takes off!

Out of those 4 families.. 3 have visited since then.. But one moved to another state the week after they visited!!! I hope it wasn't something in my sermon!!!

The other 2 said they liked our church and will be back...

I posted this thread the other night... http://www.baptistboard.com/showthread.php?t=50365

The first person that got saved in that thread was one that I have been building a relationship with over the last yr, and she also received gas at our giveaway.. and I remember her asking us why we were just giving it away...

Then read on in the thread I linked to, and you will see where another person was saved as an indirect result of the first person getting saved.

Another result that was calculated was the positive PR for our church.
Our church has gone through a couple bad splits within the last 8 yrs.. both before I was pastor.. so we are in a healing process...
And one of the rumors floating around town a couple months ago was that because of the splits, we didn't have enough money to keep the doors open! I know, I know.. .just rumors, but it was bad PR...

Soooo.. when we gave away $200 worth of Gas, it blew that rumor out of the water... I have already heard the statement that our church must be doing something right....

So the long term PR affects will pay off.

So, the results so far (that I have seen)
    2 people saved....
    3 families visited...
PR for the church is turning around to positive...

Also, I know of over 200 people that were told the plan of salvation...

So, who knows what God will do with his word that was put forth...
He promises it will not come back void...

To see the full results we wil have to wait until we get to Heaven...

    But I am hopeful!

(Oh, one more thing I am not a fan of "seeker-friendly" stuff... But I do feel that we need to show people that the church cares about their needs... This gets their attention... so that we can share the Gospel with them... the same thing the soup kitchen did to Billy Sunday, and many other Christians..... I call it "Relational evangelism" It is building a relationship with someone in order to share Christ with them.. Sometimes it may take months to build the relationship... sometimes it takes minutes... Just let the Holy Spirit lead me)

Very few get saved in Japan without some kind of relationship.
