Is this suppose to justify the police arresting an innocent kid?

Silly deflection. Customs in the Middle East has nothing to do with a 14 year old and a clock.

It might if you're trying to justify the fear and paranoia that now grips this nation, and the methods those among us use continually to keep it that way.

Very true. And it looks like it's just gonna get amped up even more during this election cycle as a strategy.

Yeup, the police and school authorities were so sure of the young man's guilt they ended up with mud on their faces.
And yes, it could have been a fake or part of a bomb, but the authorities as noted below didn't take actions consistent with that.

Yes, it's getting to the point where Breitbart has become a laughingstock for "news" stories. That's too bad because years ago they broke some important stories. I guess they found out where their bread gets buttered and now slant most stories.

Poncho, this kind of thinking and action has been taking place since the founding of the Republic. Remember, the Alien and Sedition Acts? The Know Nothings?

If it were an American kid taking a clock through customs there, would it? The point is those same muzzie countries do far worse and are in no position to be critical of this case.

Meanwhile, this is a big bonanza for that kid. A well thought out plot, perhaps. Scholarship offers from MIT and other insts, and Obama sure was quick to judge the merits of his clock. It's probably too bad for the second person who tries this; it should work only once.

It wasn't until 1928 that "the conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses" became a science.

Since that time "public relations" has been used by the corporate elite and their political counterparts to sell us everything from toothpaste to illegal wars.

Back in the days you speak of there were still people in government and civil society who believed in individual liberties and constitutional principles. The corporate elite didn't have almost total control of the flow of information, the food supply, the government, the courts weren't nearly as corrupt and the people themselves were educated instead of indoctrinated.

Didn't you learn any of this in school?

And you can prove this was all an elaborate plot cooked up by a 14 year old kid of course. Right?

No, I can't prove it, and I did say "perhaps." Meanwhile, a conspiracy nut like you has no authority to sling muck.

An American kid couldn't carry a clock to the gate leaving the United States to get it into a Muslim country  . Have you not been in an airport lately? They barely let you take your laptop or a tablet through. An American kid couldn't even get such a device past the TSA screening process to go to the gates let alone get to Customs in another country.

What do the policies of a foreign country have to do with what was done to a kid here in the United States?

About as quick as you are to judge his saying "cool clock".

I would hope that school administrators and teachers already have a process for dealing with such things without having to get the police involved.

All of the so called outrage is feigned at best to create a narrative about racial issues. Kids get detained in schools all the time for all kinds of reasons who are all sorts of different races.

But not arrested when the police know, as they admitted later, there was no crime, nothing to arrest him for.

    Islamaphobia!
