Newsmax: What do you find most objectionable about McCain?

Coulter: That, on the litmus issues of our time, only partially excluding Iraq, he is a liberal. He apparently excoriated Samuel Alito as too "conservative." He promoted amnesty for 20 million illegal immigrants. He abridged free citizen speech (in favor of the media) with McCain-Feingold.

He opposes [drilling in] ANWR and supports the global warming cult, even posturing with fellow mountebank Arnold Schwarzenegger in front of solar panels. Yes, he supported the surge, along with every other Republican worth mentioning, but he would shut down Guantanamo — the most successful rat trap in our nation's anti-terror fight — and he joins Code Pink in calling the Bush administration "torturers."

Oh yeah, he originally voted against the Bush tax cuts, but now says he would support them. And he libels our miraculous drug companies as "crooks." Can I take a breath?

Newsmax: Is there anything he could do that would allow you to support him against Hillary or Obama?

Coulter: He's 71 years old. He's not changing.

Newsmax: Is there any hope of stopping McCain before the convention?

Coulter: As true conservative Ronald Reagan would say, there is always hope in America.

Newsmax: Isn't the conservative base powerful enough to stop McCain if they will unite behind Romney?

Coulter: If rallied to their senses.

Newsmax: If Huckabee could be persuaded to quit and throw his support to Mitt, would that do the trick?

Coulter: Yes. Good Idea. Tell Huckabee.

Newsmax: Why Is Huckabee not backing Mitt?

Coulter: 1. Like McCain, he lives for praise from the mainstream media and 2. he is hoping to be McCain's VP choice.

I get emails daily from Newmax - I read Ann's interview - I agree with all she said - with the exception of voting for Hillary.

I enjoy her writing - and I find myself agreeing with her - much of the time!

I'm happy for you. I reject everything she says and if she had lived in Germany in 1943 I have no doubt which side she would have been on.

Ann Coulter is a mud thrower and no follower of Christ should be a fan of hers. However I must report, with much sadness, that many followers of Christ are fans of hers. I don't know why they are, but they are. Personally, I don't take Coulter that seriously. In fact I honestly doubt she means half of what she says. She comes out, makes these silly comments, and then cashes in. Conservatives, mainly conservative Christians, should see past her act.

I will love the day when folks like Coulter, Limbaugh, Dobson, Robertson, and others, stop pretending they speak for all conservatives and Christian conservatives (like myself). Because they don't. I am as conservative as they come and, for many reasons, I dislike being grouped with any of the people I just mentioned. I have a brain of my own, thank you very much, and I don't need some "know it all" telling me who I should support. I support, and vote for, the person(s) I believe is best for the job.

She claims to be a follower of Christ herself. Maybe she is a sheep in wolf's clothing.

Personally I think she is a business, a brand, an act. Just like an actor on a tv show. Like I said, I don't take anything she says seriously.

Wow, what a gracious thing to say. Didn't you say in another thread that we shouldn't be mean to professing brothers in Christ, Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter? All I can say, is that you are being quite hypocritical here in saying such a hateful thing about a professing sister in Christ.

I am not a fan of Ann Coulter. However, this quote from the Newsmax article:
is a good summary of why I do not support John McCain as the Republican nominee.

Andrew Sullivan has an interesting point:

I don't like McCain. But I typically dislike talk radio conservatives too. This is entertaining.

Why do we give a second thought to what entertainer's opinions are? We are quite capable of thinking for ourselves. There is no difference between the list your made and Hulk Hogan, Oprea, Chuck Norris, or anyone else giving their opinion. God gave us a brain, its time to use it. The best way to deal with those above is the off switch.

    Excellent post Martin.
