Today my message is going to be about...another aspect of the Lord Jesus Christ:
(The part of Him....that is also the Word of God!)

LETS READ THE TEXT Hebrews 4:12-16
====================
It is wonderful.....how the LORD makes every teaching in the Bible fit perfectly together!
====================
V.12A “For the word of God”
-THE CENTER.....OF OUR FAITH-
(The Lord Jesus Christ

Qt. Revelation 19:13 “And he [was] clothed with a vesture
dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.”
and........
Qt. John 1:14 “And the Word was made flesh,”

V.12B “[is] quick, and powerful,”
-TWF THE LORD’S......”OTHER” CHARACTERISTICS-
(As the word of God

Note: “quick” Lit.(“Life”
Jesus...(“the word of God”
Is the only source of all life!

V.12C “and sharper than any twoedged sword,”
-THE CUTTING POWER...........OF GOD’S WORD-
(Cutting away....all of our excuses
--------------------------------------------------
Note: When we study the Bible:
It’s able to deal with us...in a special way!
====================
V.12D “piercing”
-THE PENETRATING POWER.......OF GOD’S WORD-
(Power...to always get...right to the point
--------------------------------------------------
Note: As we study the Bible:
It goes right to the heart......of our problems!
====================
V.12E “even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow,”
-THE EXPOSING POWER......OF THE WORD OF GOD-
(Separating our sin from it’s hiding places
--------------------------------------------------
Note: As we study the Bible:
It reveals “God’s truth” to us:
------------------------
Teaching us what is permitted & what is not!

V.12F “and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
-THE REVEALING POWER.......OF GOD’S WORD-
(Revealing the truth about ourselves to us
--------------------------------------------------
Note: As we study the Bible:
It will reveal....any hypocrisy in our life or heart!
====================
V.13A “Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight:”
-NOTHING IS EVER HID.......FROM THE LORD’S SIGHT-
(The thoughts, feelings, plans & intentions
Of every living thing:

Is known by Him!
====================
V.13B “but all things [are] naked and opened”
-HE KNOWS MORE ABOUT US...THAN WE COULD EVER KNOW ABOUT OURSELVES-
(This is why we should be going to Him
For self examination:
--------------------------------------------------
So that we can.....draw even closer to Him!
====================
V.13C “unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.”
-THE CIRCUMSTANCES....IN WHICH WE WILL BE JUDGED-
(By an all knowing & all seeing God
--------------------------------------------------
Every one of us.....is going to be accountable to Him:
For every thing we have done:
Whether it be good or bad........
Qt. 2Cor.5:10 "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ;
that every one may receive the things [done] in [his] body,
according to that he hath done, whether [it be] good or bad."

V.14A “Seeing then that we have a great high priest,”
-ONE MORE HAT.....THE LORD’S WEARS-
(He is our great High Priest
Who sacrificed Himself for our sins:

And is now in heaven....interceding for us!
====================
V.14B “that is passed into the heavens,”
-THE LORD’S.....WORK FOR US IN HEAVEN-
-------------------------
➀Defending us from Satan’s attacks:
➁Preparing a place for us:
➂Building a city for us!
--------------------------------------------------
Everything He does....is for “us”!
====================
V.14C “Jesus the Son of God,”
-MAKING SURE.....THERE IS NO MISUNDERSTANDING-
(As to who is being talked about here
--------------------------------------------------
➀Today there are thousands of false teachers:
➁Trying to undo every promise God made to us:
➂By casting doubt upon what God’s Word says!

V.14D “let us hold fast [our] profession.”
-YET ANOTHER REASON....WE SHOULD NOT GIVE UP-
(Because of all that the Lord...has done
And.....is doing......for us:
--------------------------------------------------
An argument that will only work with Christians!
====================
V.15A “For we have not an high priest”
“which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities;”
-THE LORD IS A SAVIOR....THAT “CAN” BE TOUCHED-
(Touched by our heartaches
--------------------------------------------------
He truly has compassion for us...when we are hurting!
====================
V.15B “but was in all points tempted like as [we are,”
-ANOTHER PURPOSE.....FOR JESUS COMING TO DIE FOR US-
(The way He did it
--------------------------------------------------
By living a regular human existence:
So that He could experience......life’s troubles!
====================
V.15C “yet] without sin.”
-ONE THING.....JESUS “NEVER” EXPERIENCED-
(Sin
Because of His “perfect Holiness”!
--------------------------------------------------
God’s experience with sin....is from the other side:
------------------------
In heaven..He see’s it’s destructive results!
====================
V.16A “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace,”
-HOW ALL THIS.......SHOULD EFFECT OUR PRAYER LIFE-
(This should give us more boldness
--------------------------------------------------
As we bring our requests....before the Lord!
====================
V.16B “that we may obtain mercy,”
-THE MAIN THING.....WE ALL NEED FROM THE LORD-
(Mercy
--------------------------------------------------
Because none of us....have arrived yet!
====================
V.16C “and find grace to help in time of need.”
-THAT SUPERNATURAL STRENGTH........WE NEED IN TIMES OF TROUBLE-
(So that we don’t give up
--------------------------------------------------
Note: The Lord will give us “extra grace”:
To endure whatever we might be faced with!
