Another person is using my name and I don't know...

    Another person is using my name and I want to change my name and profile so we don't overlap.

    I haven't been here in about 6 or 7 years so obviously someone else was using my name recently and now I just want to change my profile so I can clear up the confusion.

    Can someone please let me know how I change my profile and username, please. Thank you.

    sorry, I think I figured it out

    I went into my profile and changed my login name. Hope this works.

    First, there is a section specifically for forum tech support:

    Next, you and someone else can't have the same name on this forum. It isn't technically possible. The forum makes sure that each name is unique.

    Actually, you need to contact an administrator, or possibly a moderator. Only they can do it.

    ummm.. cough cough...I'm embarrassed

    I finally figured out what the problem was.

    I was using this name 8 years ago. And when I read my own posts, it didn't sound like me, haha. Oh well, issue resolved. Sorry for the interruption of everyone. Thanks for all your help.

    I can't use the name "Jonathan" because there are too many of us, and someone else with that name is always there before me--so I combine the first 3 letters of my first name with my middle name. It particularly works for me with a hyphen since I am French on my dad's side, and the French use hyphens. Unfortunately, some Websites won't let me use the hyphen--so I don't join there. If I can't use Jonathan or Jon-Marc, I won't bother joining. There is no other name I want to use.

    this si funny,, but I have found old stuff of mine before, had my name on it and I didn't recognize it as being mine. Not necessarily on this board, but just stuff I'd written.

    I think I used to be more tart than I am now. I would say just about anything.

    I probably still do, but I was more brash about it.
