    http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2009/08/26/taking_liberties/entry5268079.shtml

...Section 431(a) of the bill says that the IRS must divulge taxpayer identity information, including the filing status, the modified adjusted gross income, the number of dependents, and "other information as is prescribed by" regulation. That information will be provided to the new Health Choices Commissioner and state health programs and used to determine who qualifies for "affordability credits."

    Yikes!

    A reaction...

I can't believe anyone in good conscience could vote for such horrific legislation.

Gosh, its only been about 2 years since Congress enacted the HIPPA regulations forcing physicians to implement another layer of paperwork to insure that personal information is kept private.

(Has anyone ever read that stuff or do you just sign it like me?)

Now Congress wants to share my tax information with various unknown bureaucrats to be named at a later date.

    Why is this "privacy" important

unless one is cheating on one's taxes?

financial Information is only valuable if only certain people have access to certain information. If every person's income tax info was posted on the web then no one would care except the cheats and the crooks.

Yeah, that pesky ol' 4th amendment:The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

pretty much, yes, that would be why he wants it rewritten, to do away with actual freedoms, as we keep seeing him do

Yes. I am an Anti-Federalist. A states rights person. Dump the Constitution. Return to an updated Articles of Confederation.

    Yikes!

That ship has sailed...and no one wanted on it, to boot.

The tenth amendment (if it wasn't ignored) gives plenty of provision for the rights of states.

It's just that the current administration (as well as the past few previous ones) simply ignore that amendment...
