Rep. Grimm is being investigated for campaign fundraising violations. He's also being criticized for wearing army combat ribbons that he never earned.

WASHINGTON — Footage showed Representative Michael G. Grimm physically threatening a reporter in the Capitol, shining a harsh light on the embattled Staten Island Republican in the hours after President Obama’s State of the Union address here on Tuesday.

Mr. Grimm can be heard telling Michael Scotto, a reporter for NY1, “I’ll break you in half” in footage broadcast by the network. Moments earlier, Mr. Grimm had walked away from an interview when Mr. Scotto began asking him questions about allegations of campaign finance violations.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Rep. Michael Grimm (R-Staten Island/Brooklyn) is taking a lashing from the right for his endorsement of Republican Mitt Romney for president.

Staten Island Tea Party co-organizer Frank Santarpia said that his members prefer Herman Cain in the GOP race.

He also said that some Tea Partiers found the timing of the Grimm endorsement "disturbing" as it came within days of a Romney endorsement from Guy Molinari, Grimm's political mentor.

    http://www.silive.com/news/index.ssf/2011/10/staten_island_rep_michael_grim_8.html

Can a "Tea Party" that prefers a Federal Reserve banker really be called a "Tea Party"?

Sounds like just another global bankster love fest to me. Mitt Romney vs Herman Cain? Imagine that! Might as well just forgo all the political theater (nomination process) and appoint a Goldman Sachs man as the candidate for both parties. Oh wait that's just what happened last election.

Goldman Sachs! Goldman Sachs! Goldman Sachs! HOOAH!

    Rev,

You beat me to it, what does this have to do with the Tea Party. If we accused every liberal who said something stupid and attached it to the democrat party we would be doing the same thing. Funny how libs will do anything to tarnish the Tea Party.

Ahh... but the Tea Party has only been prominent for less than 6 years. The list of Tea Partiers that say stupid things, then subsequently lose an election is long and getting longer. They seem to have a propensity for sticking their feet in their mouths.

"People ask me, 'What are you going to do to develop jobs in your state?' Well, that's not my job as a U.S. senator." —Sharron Angle, May 14, 2010

We have the capacity to, as a great nation, secure the border. If East Germany could, we could." —Alaska GOP Senate candidate Joe Miller, on how to deal with illegal immigration, Oct. 17, 2010

"The exact phrase 'separation of Church and State' came out of Adolph Hitler's mouth, that's where it comes from. So the next time your liberal friends talk about the separation of Church and State, ask them why they're Nazis." —Glen Urquhart, the Tea Party-backed Republican nominee for the Delaware House seat held by Rep. Mike Castle, April 2010

"I'm not a witch...I'm you." —Christine O'Donnell, in a 30-second ad. Previously she had said, "I was dabbling into every other kind of religion before I became a Christian. I was dabbling in witchcraft, I've dabbled in Buddhism. I would have become a Hare Krishna but I didn't want to become a vegetarian."

"So that's what we want is a secure and sovereign nation and, you know, I don't know that all of you are Latino. Some of you look a little more Asian to me." —Sharron Angle, speaking to a group of Hispanic high school students, Oct. 15, 2010

"As your governor, you're going to be seeing a lot of me on the front page, saying 'Governor LePage tells Obama to go to hell.''' —Maine Republican gubernatorial candidate Paul LePage, Sept. 29, 2010

So....it has nothing to do with the Tea Party. Someone just wanted to tie something stupid to it no matter how unrelated it is.

If you want to get into a competition on politicians saying stupid statements, then the liberals over the years have given us all a treasure trove of idiotic sound bites. Take Pelosi, Reid and Kerry by themselves and then add in Al Gore and you could fill a 2 hour Hee Haw special.

Again what does this have to do with the Tea Party? Honestly this kind of posting is beneath you.

Judas was a Zealot. Does that mean all Zealots would have betrayed Christ? Using your reasoning, yes they would, which is an utterly silly conclusion. Like this one.

Grimm's an idiot. Is that what you want us to say? He should have checked the little red light on the camera before going off on the reporter. Does this mean all Tea Party Caucus members are idiots who can't remember to check the little red light on the camera before going off on a reporter? For that matter, when did any other Tea Party Caucus member go off on a reporter?

The broad brush of stupidity most often touches the person brandishing it.

No, of course not. I'm merely making an observation that there seems to be a somewhat higher percentage of Tea Partiers that say stupid things. And when these people become candidates they cause liberal Democrats to get elected, which is not a good thing.

Note the KEY phrase which I put in bold.

Does the media report all the items of truth that members of the Tea party state - especially statements of fact?

Do you deny that, as Solosaint pointed out - of the many dumb things said by liberals in these 57 united States?

... that the media utterly fails to point out? But let a Republican, Tea Party Caucus member, or other conservative say something dumb ... wow! Five bell media alarm! "Breaking News!"

What a crock it all is.

You guys really need to stop playing the victim card when it comes to the press. When dumb things are said by either side it gets reported.

On the one hand you decry liberals who talk about "fair wages", "fair taxes", etc. then you complain because "the press isn't fair."

No, they don't. It's not the medias job to give the Tea Party a platform on the national news.

No. Liberals say dumb stuff too. And it gets reported. I believe SolaSaint published a list of gaffes by liberals recently (or was it JediKnight?). Anyway, they are out there and it's on the record.

The Tea Party has only been in the public eye for less than a decade, only five years really. They have the record for most gaffes per year and it's not even close.
