The same place they did when Christ raised Lazarus. Did Lazarus choose to rise? No. Did he choose not to rise? No. Was it a violation of his free will when Jesus raised him or was he "forced" to live and breath as a result? No. Was it a sin against all the other dead people that Jesus didn't raise them as well? No.

Did we choose to be regenerated? No. Did we choose not to? No. Is it a violation of our will to believe unto salvation as a result? No. Is God responsible for those who continue in their sin because He didn't regenerate them? No.

Wes, I'm lost with your stuff, does that mean man can stop being saved then?

I chose to be regenerated. Your points are pointless! What does Lazarus have anything to do with all this? You list a multiple choice question and answer them with a "yes" or "no" reply.

And yes, God would be responsible for not regenerating man, if he wasn't who is? Remember now, man can't regenerate himself!?!

Lazarus was physically dead. The Bible describes the unsaved as spiritually dead.

You said that you chose to be regenerated. Really? Did you choose to be born as well? Christ used the illustration of birth in John 3 to describe the working of the Spirit in salvation.

Man. God isn't doing man any harm... He is simply allowing man to continue according to his own, free, natural, unregenerate will.
But you said that you chose to be regenerated. Does that not give you a part in your regeneration since God cannot do it without your asking? Do you not deserve credit for making such a wise decision?

So, you compare a physical and spiritual death. That makes sense.

And if man is responsible for regenerating himself, how can he do that? It's impossible. He can't choose to do so, basically, we're little robots that God set in motion having already played favorites. The rest of us have no hope!

So how does God choose who He will regenerate. I know what I believe, I was asking to get a response. I deserve no credit, save the fact that upon hearing the Word of God, I accepted God's gift (Christ) and through His merit on the cross I can have eternal life.

Conclusion to the whole matter (seeing my questions are left unreasonably answered)

God "before the foundation of the world" predestinated those of whom He wanted to spend all eternity with and therefore all others are eternally damned from the get-go. Our responsbility today? Just become more like Christ, but, don't worry about evangelism, God will draw them on His own, he doesn't need us! Man has no free-will, all those babies who die prematurely, sorry parents a Pastor can not comfort you b/c, how are we to know who the elect of God are???

Basically, it's a disgusting and hopeless view of Bible exposition and a nice job of taking verses out of context!

Acceptance of a gift is not works.

God is the supreme power. He has the power to pardon the guilty. He offers that pardon to the guilty, but He also sets a requirement on that pardon. You have to accept it.

    You can't earn it.
    You will never deserve it.
Since it cannot be earned, or deserved, it cannot be obtained by work.

However, you MUST accept the offer. That is the term God placed on it.

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
    I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.

Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
    And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
    The hour I first believed.

I view witnessing to the world as my duty as a Christian, I don't really worry much about the "predestination" question or not. I can't understand God. I tend to believe He calls us all, and yet, because He knows us all, knows some of us will turn away.

I do know, though, that the presentation of those who strongly support predestination is ~not~ at all what Loving2daysyouth paints it out as.

Well Scott, I do not know which definition of "merit" you are using in your argument, but it escapes me that you could even think for one moment that it does not take human faith which is based on human knowledge of the object of said faith derived by believing the knowledge gained of the object of faith, for one to have a spirit that is in the condition of faith for God to save the individual human.

The choice to believe or not believe resides in the human and no where else. If you are calling "choosing" a meritorious effort, you are defining "believing" as a WORK! Salvation is not BY Works, but rather BY FAITH derived by the human while God is in HIS condition of Grace. It is the human condition of faith in God, that makes the human saveable by God! It was Abrahams Faith that was counted to him as righteousness. Likewise it is our faith that is counted to us as righteousness!

If man can stop believing in anything; and there is much evidence that man can stop believing in whatever man wants to stop believing in, then Man can likewise stop believing in God of man's own free will.

There are many scripture's warning against losing one's faith! So if it were not possible to lose one's faith, why are the warnings in Scripture?

Salvation is a gracious act of God, through our faith in him, Salvation is not of ourselves, nor can it be earned and never lost. If we lose the "through faith" part of the equation, then we lose salvation!

So, Yes, I am saying that man can "stop being saved", as an act of man's own free will!

I'm not paranoid, nor has my faith waivered due to this discussion. I am well-pleased in the fact that my questions remain unanswered seeing that there is no Scriptural support for them.

I am paranoid at the fact that men of influence (I.E. MacArthur & Co.) are spreading this false doctrine around without properly knowing how to exposite the scriptures. And now, blind followers who trust his judgment are teaching this ludicrous idea of Calvinism.

I believe in predestination, I believe in election, I believe in the called... However, I do not believe that these have anything to do with one's salvation. Show me Scriptures that say they do!

I am disappointed that the the sovereign God has been diminished to this all-powerful one able to create robots, some of them saved, some of them not.

What a hopeless and sad view of Christianity. How do you offer any comfort to the family who prematurely lost their child if you do not know if he was one of the chosen (elect) of God?

The challenge is still out... Answer Biblically any one of my four questions.

Well, I have heard that ignorance is bliss.

    1. What is the purpose of the judgment if God has already prechosen those who will be saved?

To show God's wrath and to make known His power, and to make known the riches of His glory for vessels of mercy, which He has prepared beforehand for glory.

    2. Do you believe in an arranged marriage?

    Yes

    3. How are O.T. Saints saved?

By grace through faith. (See the Exodus for more details.)

    4. Where does God's sovereignty and man's freewill meet? Or do they?

They meet in the mind of God.

    1. Where is that Scripture?

    2. Where is that Scripture?

    3. Where is that Scripture?

    4. Where is that Scripture?

Do you see a pattern here. I could rip apart your "opinions" but would rather "compare spiritual with spiritual."

    Romans 9.

    Ephesians 5:25-27

Genesis 15; Exodus 1-19 (as I said before)

    Ephesians 1

    Yes, the pattern is obvious.

    1. Romans 9??? What version do you read?

    2. Ephesians 5, what does that have to do with arranged (predetermined) marriages?

    3. What was the O.T. Saint's faith in?

    4. Ah, yes, the beloved Eph. 1, what part, may I ask?

Sometimes you have to be redundant to get a point across, Jesus did.
