I am keeping an eye on the Rose Bowl particularly. Illinois has their work cut out for them playing USC in Pasadena. With USC being the PAC Champs and Illinois being an "at large" BCS bowl team, it will be an uphill climb all the way.

I just don't think Illinois can keep up with USC. But anything is possible when you have five weeks off.

Juice Williams has really played well the last few games. Mendenhall is one of the finest RB's in college this season. He's ranked 7th. He's better statistically than USC's Washington, averaging almost twice as many yards per carry.

I hope this long lay off doesn't hurt them. Hopefully, they will be healthy and well-rested.

I agree and other than that game, I predict I will watch about 3 minutes of the college games and fall fast asleep.

Considering that Nutt won't be coaching and Petrino won't be coaching the Hogs yet, if Missouri doesn't win the Cotton Bowl they should be extremely embarassed.

From SEC and C-USA country, and in the neighborhood of the Big-12, no less, you heard it here, folks!

Nothing like an open mind, is there?

In what week is Bob Petrino scheduled to arrive as Arkansas' 'guest coach' for the next year or so?

I just wonder if anyone will ever be able to use the words "forcd out" and "Bob Petrino" in the same sentence?

I heard a "lynch mob" once went to his home looking for him, [IMG]

but couldn't find any evidence that anyone had lived in the home for the last year!

Even the bloodhound, gave up the search!

This week Coach Petrino has been visiting players that have committed for the 2008 class, including Jim Youngblood(remember this name) about 30 miles from where I live.

However, Coach Petrino will not be involved in the bowl preparations and after today there is an NCAA dead period in recruiting until January 8. So I guess he'll be working on getting his family moved during that time.

Is this Jim Youngblood related to either Jim or Jack Youngblood (no kin, if I remember correctly), both of whom are retired NFL stars from the old LA Rams, outta' curiosity?

I don't remember whether I mentioned it on this board or not, but I went to watch the Oil Bowl [Texas HS all-stars v. Oklahoma HS all-stars in Wichita Falls] last June, and I would say Nathan Dick is a lot better QB than his older brother, more mobile and a better and smarter passer. Arkansas' attack won't be based on a guy like McFadden by 2009, maybe not next year, but if ND is the QB he looked like in an attack that resemebles Louisville's, that could a powerful offense.

And before anyone laughs - last year I correctly predicted that Boise St. would beat Oklahoma. I foresee a similar upset happening this year for Hawaii. It would be nice to see a trend of these mid-majors winning big bowl games.
