I had an opportunity to meet Roger---back in '04 I traveled with a group of preacher friends to the UK---I was gonna make plans to meet Roger the dodger somewhere there across the "Big Pond"----unfortuneitely---at the same time I was in the UK---Roger was here in the States---maybe one day, Roger, huh???

I exchange Christmas cards & stuff like that with Sister Sue----I keep thinkin' I'd plan a vacation up to Illoinios.

My former youth minister is a member here--but I don't recall his screen name--its somethin' "goofy"---unlike the screen name "blackbird"

There have been some great comments so far. Thanks to each who has participated in the poll and posted so far. Praise the Lord for each life He has worked in.

I truly hope that the two who want to make friends on the BB will be able to do so. Stick with it, make your posts kind and friendly, and it will happen! :wavey:

Ditto to what Brother Bob said.

I don't know who likes me and who doesn't, though I interact with many folks here. They are all godly (of course).

When I first joined, my wife was shocked and quite angry. Spied on me, I think. I was layed up for a few months due to an injury. She said there would be ABSOLUTELY no way I would remain on this board without getting booted. Said I am too "rough around the edges" in my speech, that I would have nothing in common with Christians anyway.

People talk a little different here, you really have to learn what is ok to say and what is not. It doesn't come natural.

I would tell her about people here- maybe about what someone made for dinner or anything else that sounds interesting, then she would say "wow, ring a ding ding" kinda sarcastically. Now she is nicer about it, sometimes takes an interest in the threads.

She wanted me to heal quickly and not talk online, I guess. I had to promise not to give out personal info online to anyone. She has a violent, and often paranoid schizophrenic brother and a other very bad few things happen so she's very cautious. The camera disappeared so I couldn't send pictures, or learn to send them, so I have to ask her to download pics for me. Otherwise, she is fine with it now. When I don't understand a post, sometimes she reads it and tells me what the person means. Makes me wonder how many other people have spouses who don't like them posting here.

So I never forget she thought I would have been booted. I am thankful that I am still here.

My hubby and I met Gayla and her hubby in May of this year. We met for dinner at Appleby's, and had a great time. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting them.

Joe, why would she think you'd have nothing in common with Christians? Is this a situation where you're a believer and she isn't, or did she just mean the type of Christians who frequent this particular board?

She is right to be cautious though. There are some scary people in this world, and I've been caught by surprise on more than one occasion by what can go on behind the scenes.

However, let her know that there's some really cool stuff going on, there are recipe threads and such that can be quite helpful, and it's always nice to have a place to go and get different opinions on Bible stuff! Maybe she'll join too. :type:

I've never met any BB'ers, although I do consider some to be friends.

I'm kind of related to PK07 - Does that count??

Three or four people on here who never forget to send me birthday greetings and sometimes just short nice notes, and whose love I feel in their notes. I'm keeping their names private. You all know who you are.

I also like to think of Reformed Baptist, TC Greek, and most Calvinists here as friends, and hope they count me one, and do not mind me sometimes stating that I am not Calvinist.

Webdog and tinytim, although soteriologically on the far side of the fence, I have learned to love and respect over time, and so I avoid having to debate with them continously, because I am a big mouth and say things I regret afterwards (which by the way, thinking of others here, is why I have not posted too much lately).

    Hi Gina
When I first joined the BB, we had not been involved in church very long. So she probably thought I would not relate to them. Seemed like everything she knew, or we knew, of Christians was negative. There were misunderstandings when we first joined, but as we got to know everyone then it was fine. As a teacher, she works more than I do which is sort of unfair because that means I have more free time. Sometimes I think she resents that but doesn't want to go to part time. She is wonderful, just a little rougher than most church women imo. And...she isn't as into church as I am, neither is my son. Sometimes I must drag them to church.

I have met USN2. He is a pastor in my home town, and therefore pastor of quite a number of my relatives.
I have also waved to him from afar when he was riding on a parade float.
My brother and his wife were in the same high school class.

I have never met Dr. Bob in person, but I am grateful for his presence on the BB. Behind the scenes this year, he did a great favor for me in making a contact where he lives, in which he presented the Gospel and was generally helpful.

BB posting is acting strange today. It took 15 minutes for this to go through, and then did it 3 times.

I knew George too... I fed him, I played wif him, I took care of him... until one day he disappeared... I cried, and cried, and cried.... Until I found fred...

Now Fred made me happy... until one day I threw him up in the air, and he landed on his head...

He got up and ran away... but before he left he was murmuring something about changing his name to rbell....

    That may explain some things.
