    Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has heard about Natural Slim Down Fast? I'm not really into taking diet pills, but at this point I would try anything. Can anyone give me any tips?
    Thanks

O yeah! It takes will power. Don't eat for 40 days, take only liquid, and you'll slim down to your satisfaction! :D

I am new here but I am very concerned about this last post of not eating for 40 days.

Fasting needs to be directed by the Lord and we are to fast for the main reason to focus on Him and Him alone. It is not a reason to lose weight but to focus on the Lord as He has directed us to do so.

If we would just listen to our bodies as the Lord made them and eat when we are hungry and stop when we are full and focus on the Lord in between you would be amazed of how the weight will just come off.

But I caution you and say this will mercy and love that fasting is not an occassion to lose weight but to draw closer to the Lord.

    Raya,
Try a christian based weight loss program. There are some threads here on weight loss, I think in general discussions, and in women discussions.

Theres a great christian program called Thin Within, there is also a club/support group at yahoo that I am currently at. Come on over and chek it out. You can get more information there too.

    See you there.

My dear, the question was calling for the best slim-down method - you call it fasting. So do I. You call it fasting according to Biblical directions. So do I.

I know a Bible church, my daughter attends it, where some of the members and the Pastor fasted for 40 days. They took only liquid and vitamins, spending their free time to read the Bible, pray, and draw closer to the Lord. This was in conjunction to a revival, which started with the core group first and then spread throughout the church.

End result: they got closer to the Lord, the whole congregation benefitted from it, and they managed to lose weight as a bonus. Therefore, my post above stands (I am not losing it yet). ;)

I understand what you are saying as I did speak about fasting...I just get concerned because I know of so many that do it only for the purpose of losing weight when the purpose of fasting is really to draw closer to the Lord and the weight loss is just a bonus.

The way you worded your post it sounded to me as if you were saying we should fast to lose weight.

The main reason to fast is to spend time with the Lord at the time you would be eating. Of course, above all it is to draw closer to Him.

I just have a concern about telling others to fast for weight loss purposes when the purpose of fasting is to draw closer to the Lord.

I was just concerned not offended or trying to offend just trying to be very cautious in this area of fasting that it is done for the right reason.

But when we do fast in accordance to drawing closer to the Lord and there is weight loss as a result the Lord will be praised and magnified and your relationship with Him will be much closer.

Thank you all for your comments and I appreciate your input.

Hi Cyndib ~ I am curious, your name seems familiar to me, though you state that you are new here.

Did you use to post under a different member name?

There used to be another Cyndi here and she was quite interested in Christian weight loss programs, especially at her church.

    She used the handle "BaptistMom".

    Hello Keeper of the Home,

Yes my name is Cyndi and I am interested in weight loss because I have alot to lose and I want to do it in a way that would give honor to the Lord and that I can focus on Him and not on the food, or the weight or myself.

But just because I have the same name as someone else who was on this board and I am interested in weight loss does not mean that I am that person.

Actually I think that most women who have problems with their weight are concerned about losing weight. For me personally I just want to please the Lord in the way I do it. I know so many people who have used these so called "worldly diets" and in the end they may lose weight but they became focused on themselves and I want to learn to focus on the Lord more and I know I can do this through His Word alone but Katie referred us to this other program that looks wonderful too.

So anyway I am just interested in pleasing the Lord in all things and that includes losing weight and not over indulging in things instead I need to put the Lord first in all things.

Cyndi, I know what you mean. I have had a hard time finding a diet program that works for me. I really should be more active, but it's hard with things they way they are at the moment.

What I would really like to do is start back with my ballet lessons. I'm really going to pray about the Lord opening that door again. When I took them before, I always lost some weight, but more importantly I reshaped my body.

I can't do many of the exercise programs because I am not cooridnated enough, or they use the most ungodly music! Ick!

Anyway . . . what types of diet/weight loss programs have you previously used?

BTW, since you're new and I didn't see you intro yourself anywhere, welcome.

    Hey CyndiB,

What do you think of the Weigh Down Workshop Cult?

I am overwhelmed with all your responses...

Sorry for not introducing myself just did not feel comfortable. I am not one to bring attention to myself so I just wanted to post and be encouraged here and this board seems like a wonderful place.

    So to answer your questions...
I have used many "worldly diets".
I had been on weight watches, and Richard Simmonds I also did Overeaters Annoymous.

Yes, like many of us I tried Weigh Down too but since Desert Oasis and the beliefs in that program our church has decided to not be involved in that program.

Joseph as an answer to you question I definately think it is a cult. For me any so called "religion" that believes that you need to earn your salvation through works is a cult for me.

But Keeper of the home if you are looking for a program check out the site Katie recommended I did and it was very encouraging.

Feel free to email me personally if you need to.

Forgive those who thought you were the other Cyndi. It isn't just because you have similiar names, it is because you are much like the other Cyndi in many ways. Not only are you both interested in weight loss, you both homeschool for the exact same reasons and both feel the same concerns with public schools. You even word your concerns in a very similiar manner. It was an obvious mistake and I had also been wondering if you might be her as well.

So thanks for clearing that up for us and I hope that you find the message board the blessing that I have found it to be.

As for the weight loss program, I have not heard of this one. I had tried weight watchers, Tops, and Overeaters Anonymous many years back. I finally just dropped the weight by counting calories and exercising. Exercise is what helped me maintain my weight loss without having to really worry about "what" I was eating.

However, there are people like my mother that can not physically exercise due to medical reasons. I would love to find out more for her.

I had told my mother about the Weigh Down Workshop, but fortunately I was able to stop her from actually going once I found out what was really behind all that. (That was thanks to some information posted here!) So I am still seeking something that may be more helpful for her.

I also FINALLY put back on all those pounds I had shed so many years ago! Well, I am pregnant btw, but I know that this is NOT all baby fat! *hehe* I had stopped exercising for the last couple of years too! After the baby, I plan to get back to watching my food intake until my exercise program gets back into gear.

Good luck and I thank everyone for their insights. Even when I don't always post, I am usually lurking and reading and really gain a lot from the knowledge that is shared here. [IMG]

Whew! Thanks so much for your post Lorilei! I was convinced that I was crazy or just imagining things! LOL . . . I'm glad to know that there are others who recognized so many similarities between CyndiB and Baptistmom! [IMG]

I was thinking that maybe Baptistmom had joined us again . . . only undercover this time. [IMG] But since she said she's not the same person as baptistmom, and I'm sure CyndiB wouldn't lie to us . . . I guess we never really know who's lurking out there, huh? [IMG]

Personally all this talk is making me feel uncomfortable.

Just for your info most homeschoolers don't feel too comfortable with the public school system.

I am sorry if you feel lied to but I would have perfered you contacted me personally than spread it all over the board.

I hurt by this I sounded very sarcastic accusing me of lying and just because I am similar to another person.

I don't think I will be posting for a while because I am going through some really difficult struggles in my life and I don't need any more unnecessarily problems.

If I am wrong about what you are saying please email me and I would be glad to talk with you about it. [email protected]

The discussion sure took a turn off topic.
I thought it was weight loss, not ID's.
