    Not currently. I was practicing to play piano with the youth band at my church, but due to camp and other activities we didn't have enough time to practice. And this time around they seemed to have forgotten about me at first. So I haven't been practicing for this one. They asked me if I want to sing, but I don't sing in front of people as a general rule. Lol
    They're going to start leading worship in church once a month, though. I imagine I'll likely participate then.

    One thing I like about my church is that they play both modern worship songs and hymns. Hymns are still good, I'm glad they're not excluded.

    Just thought of a couple more that are more mainstream, Altar Bridge and Brian 'Head' Welch, the ex guitarist with korn who is now a believer.

    It always makes me giggle when people refer to any music as "Christian" or "not Christian," as if there's a magical formula, tempo, mixture of instruments, rhythms, and tempo that turn a song into a Christian song vs a non-Christian song before you even bother with adding lyrics.

    :tongue3:

    Oh, and yes. I rarely bother to look up who the artist is, just enjoy it when it happens. Half the time we're not listening in English anyhow and the music wouldn't be available to find here.

    Not really. I don't like Christian music in general, though.

    I'm more of a folk/country/classic rock/beach music guy.

    Apologetix--a band that makes Christian parodies of secular songs. Like "Every Crown Has It's Thorns", a parody of the song by Guns & Roses.
    Or "Don't Stop Til Egypt", a parody of the song by Journey.
    They did a parody of Devil Went Down to Georgia, too. "Devil Went Down to Jordan", I think they called it.

    Everyone has their own tastes. :)

    A lot of stuff played on Christian radio stations tend to sound the same since many of them have a tendency to play the more pop type stuff. I like some of it, but yeah.

    I
    And here is Christian comedian Tim Hawkins doing parodies of secular songs, as if written by elderly rock stars.

    (hope this link works, sending from phone.)

    To answer the OP there are some heavy metal Christian bands that I can occasionally listen to, occasionally. I have a couple of songs that I bought out of curiosity a few years ago by Red and Disciple but haven't listened in a long while. I guess I don't understand why they need to yell the "lyrics". Otherwise the music itself is pretty good.

    You sure it's not a parody of Poison's Every Rose Has Its Thorns?

    The problem with song parodies is that they're only funny the first two or three times you hear them.

    Novelty songs are what killed Joe Diffie and Hank William's Jr's careers and drags down every Jimmy Buffett record.

    It's because they have a tendency to play very few songs. One day I had K-Love on in my car (only Christian radio station around here that's decent) when I went shopping and every time I got in the car from a store, the same 2 songs were on again. It was terrible! Get a rotation people!

    I absolutely love parodies like that and the one good thing about my major memory issues (apart from everyone thinking it's great that they can repeat the same jokes and I still laugh now) is that the parodies are always still funny!
    Although...even when I have them memorized, they're still funny to me a lot of the time. Guess I'm just weird! If you think a song is pretty and still listen, why wouldn't a funny one still be funny?

    No, I am not.. I don't like heavy metal or hard rock and even if it was Christian, I wouldn't be able to concentrate on the lyrics and on worshiping God..

    This is the only Christian Hard Rock song I know... It's called Solid Rock... Brother Glen

    1. My hope is built on nothing less
      Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;
      I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
      But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
      • Refrain:
        On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
        All other ground is sinking sand,
        All other ground is sinking sand.
    2. When darkness veils His lovely face,
      I rest on His unchanging grace;
      In every high and stormy gale,
      My anchor holds within the veil.
    3. His oath, His covenant, His blood
      Support me in the whelming flood;
      When all around my soul gives way,
      He then is all my hope and stay.
    4. When He shall come with trumpet sound,
      Oh, may I then in Him be found;
      Dressed in His righteousness alone,
      Faultless to stand before the throne.
