    I was passing through the channels last night, passed by TBN (not much different than the DC or NG).

    They were playing something about the visions of John that resulted in the book of Revelation.

    The marriage of the Lamb to the bride, was depicted as Jesus actually marrying a woman. Much of the film depicted Christians as forced slave laborers to the Romans, pretty credible. However, whenever one was nearing death, they came to John (the apostle) and knelt before him for his 'blessing' and forgiveness (absolution??).

    How much farther can such groups go without they be united with Rome?

    A few years ago, my wife's grandmother (UMC) took our boys (staying with her dad during spring break) to church. No harm right? Wrong. They came home telling me about the 'girlfriend' of Jesus, it seems the 'bible' study focused on the relationship Jesus and Mary Magdalene 'had' as a courtship.

    Do folks not realize what this kind of hogwash means?

    Is it ok to Praise the Lord for bringing me to a Baptist church? Or is that pride? I don't mean for it to be, but thankfulness only, we came to the Baptists out of the UMC, though, through reading the Bible, I was a Baptist even among them and often they countered my teaching in Sunday School.

    They seem to not really want the truth, not even a little.

    My best guess is that tv networks like the learning and discovery channel have as a near the surface but not to blatantly educate the general public that the Holy Bible ,God,& Jesus Christ were and are myths and at best headed up and followed by weak minded people. After all they are the educated scientific and scholarly community, so they think.If they took an honest look they like we would be down on bended knee.

    If they were honest they would know that there is more evidence for the Bible than any document in human history.If they were honest they would know that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, lived a perfect life,Is the Son of God,died on the cross ,paid our sin debt,was resurrected after 3 days,was seen by over 500 witnesses 10 times in 40 days, and will save us from sin and death giving us salvation and eternal life.If they really wanted to educate the public about important things,this would be the direction they would take.There is nothing more important to man than salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord who provides it.

    Come on, give me a break, I haven't gotten to see the Passion film yet [IMG] :D

    TBN is channel 22 on our cable, normally, I skip it also. On this occassion I did not, I confess.

    I find it interesting that people think just because someone on tv does or says something then it is gospel, don't worry, I am a staunch SGLMB and none of it has rubbed off on me...(go to your phone now), so I will refrain from tarrying on that number any longer (I can see that someone reading this is sitting in a chair);

    All this isn't the beginning of it. I have the Columbia History of the World published by Columbia University in the mid 90's. In that book, they spend paragraphs discussing world religions sometimes chapters, explaining the significance of the various world religions. They spend about two paragraphs on the Jewish religion, and when dealing with the Christian religion, they remark how its founder told his first followers that some of them would not see death until they saw the kingdom of God and himself in his glory. Then, isn't it obvious these men are no longer living and that the kingdom of God or the glory of Christ has yet to be found?

    print and page given to the Christian religion...about 2-3 lines.

    The world does not reject God, they are confident of God, but they reject the Christ of God, His Only Begotten Son. And many who take his name bring shame upon it by their tv shenanigans, imho.

    God Bless
