    He descended into hell

Jesus never descended into hell. His body descended into the grave, and his spirit ascended to heaven.

Luke 23:42 Then [the thief] said to Jesus, "Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom."
43 And Jesus said to him, "Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise."

Baptists are SUPPOSED to have no creed but the Bible

And therein is the noncreedalist's creed.

Keep in mind, Joshua, that the BWA does not speak for all Baptists. There are various Baptist Conventions, Groups etc. I myself do not agree with such conventions or groups as I believe they tend to put pressure on Churches that are trying to maintain their autonomy. (Although there are many who disagree with me on that point.) Your point only goes to emphasize my disagreement with such groups. I feel it is important for the New Testament Church to remain local, autonomous and maintain NO allegiance to any group and only answerable to the local congregation.

However, like others have said, that is off topic of the Apostle's Creed. But, I thought I should address your point.

Actually, since the question was "baptists'" views on the Apostle's Creed, I thought my comment was right on topic.

I agree that there are some dangers that come from cooperation, but I don't believe that it is un-baptist to associate and cooperate. Admittedly, the BWA seems to lean to the right wing with its heavy support from the SBC (which in turn tends to force orthodoxy on its constituent congregations), but I am as much a believer in the Church catholic as I am the local church. Interestingly, it was my time at a baptist seminary that really emphasized the importance of building connections to the larger Christian tradition.

I'm not against building connections, it is the joining a group or convention that I have a problem with.

Thanks Joshua for your comments. I'd like to respond but....

I'm going to have to leave you all for the next 2 weeks. My computer goes in tomorrow morning for repairs on the keyboard (laptop). See you in two weeks!

    Until Next Post, Adam
