    Good morning -

Margie and I celebrated our anniversary yesterday so I didn't have time to post here.

Yesterday in Judges, we read about Zebah and Zalmaunna and their encounter with Gideon. These two kings along with 15,000 troops were all that were left of the eastern people's army. Gideon chased them down and defeated the remainder of the invading force. The cities of Succoth and Peniel had taunted Gideon when he asked for food from them and so he made examplesof them on his return by torturing the men of Succoth with thorns and destroying a tower at Penial.

At the end of the chapter we witness Gideon's death at "a good old age."

In Mark we read of the beheading of John the Baptist. Marks account is much more descriptive than chapter 14 of Matthew and really gives a feeling of the emotions of the characters.

In 1Corinthians we read about the responsibility that comes with our freedom in Christ. We should do all things to glorify Christ. Even if things are permissable, if they appear not to be in the eyes of new believers or non-believers we have a duty to refrain.

    May God bless you

    - Clint
