    I am a strong republican, but I have to ask. Are we as conservative Christians being used to help them win elections and being distracted from other issues?

    Yes, the liberals are using us to say that God and His values are not important.

    Hell is a place full of 'good intentions'.

    Bush and his party of supposed "conservatives" has certainly used born-again Christians for political objectives. They really haven't delivered on their supposed "Christian administration" but have use conservative Christians to supposrt their wars and economic disters.

    Oh, well........But, then, again, Chuck has political ambitions too. I don't know, it might just be that I came from a third world country where politicians murder each other for the lowly position of Village chief, with a measly salary of a dollar equivalent of about $1,000.00/per annum so that I think when a guy goes into politics, his motives are immediately suspect and I don't care if ten thousand angels swear he is on the level.

    Do you feel used? You are only used if you let people use you! However that is a Democrat attempted talking point. You are being used as they try to suggest, so stay home and let us take over, via no-vote.

    Vote your conscience and call your Representatives if they are not living up to the promised standards. What's the alternative? Stay home and watch cartoons as the Democratic Party is hoping?

    A) I am a born again Christian and nobody uses me. Unless I decided to listen to the naysayers and walk around with the woe-is-me attitude, about everything! "Oh everything is so bad just like the Democrats say. I think I will stay home like they suggest because after all the Republicans really are not doing anything. Boo hoo!" No, I think I will continue to at least vote for the lesser of two evils! So to say. This way I can then still debate and complain with a straight face, ha. In addition, at least the Republicans see Christians as a wanted ally versus a detriment! :thumbsup:

    B) War is not immune to any Party StraightAndNarrow! We have to trust they are doing what is best for us and the Nation. This should be the case no matter if it is a Republican or Democrat, period! The political pandering gets old. If Iraq turns out to be an ally of America such will prove in-measurable! With history judging highly of Bush. If it goes the other way then it was a failure and Bush is judged badly. Same was the case with WWI and WWII but it was a good thing we got involved there. Don't you think?

    C) I don't recall the ballot saying I was voting for the "Christian Administration" as you say. What was the Democratic slogan "anti-Christian Administration"? Well I have to concede the Dem's have done a better job living up to theirs, ha? Sorry, I had to!:laugh:

    D) Economic disasters? You are kidding right? The economy is booming with one of the lowest unemployment percentages ever. I am sorry Democrats see this as a disaster. Then again, from their perspective and hopes, I guess it has been.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Y'all take care. Please don't let the Liberals ruin your day or convince you it was!
    :laugh:

    See ya.:wavey:

    Preach it Ralph!

    Let the Truth out and let it burn whom it will . . . let the dog that got hit by the Word of God, bark and growl till the cows come home.

    But, let the Word lose!

    It is time for a little ole time revival . . .

    Senator Grassley goes to the same church I go to and we have had some excellent conversations. I have not met one person who does not respect him because of his integrity and who he is. We need more like him. He is not a politician, but a man who knows God and seeks to do the right thing.

    No man will ever meet every need I have or please me. Only God can do that as I please him.

    Used, lied to, laughed at, mocked and ridiculed. And some of you will continue to take that abuse and continue to vote for them. Perhaps some of the criticism is well deserved, then.

    Grassley is a pretty good guy, as Congressmen go. I'd trust him. But there's huge pressure on guys like him to "go along" , or at least not make their disgust public.

    Even then, Grassley has occasionally defied the GOP leadership to make his point.

    They aren't all sleazos.

    :confused: Weren't you supposed to say "Yea righttttt! Whateverrrrrr dude!!??":laugh:

    This "using" thing is something as I recall, people said way back in Junior High or High School!? You know the kiddie mentality.

    I would hope we are capable of using our judgment in making the best decisions possible, such as adults do! But it is still funny how some of you would like to take that kiddie mentality to tell people they are being "used". I mean come on!:tongue3:

    By the way the Dow broke through the 12,000 mark again and sustained. Such terrible news!!

    But on subject.
    If the Dems/Liberals decided to change their stances and voting habits;
    *by fighting for Christian aspects within society/instead of against them;
    *by fighting to abolish or at least make changes in abortion/instead of fighting against all such things;
    *by outlawing partial birth abortion/instead of fighting for it's continuance;
    *by standing up for traditional family or marriage/instead of against such etc, etc.

    Well, I was going to say I might consider supporting them but that's a lot of "ifs"! In fact they would truly lose their identity with a change in any of those stances.

    As it stands, I will continue to support a Party which states it's opposition to Abortion and seeks changes, whom votes in like manner! Who also states it's support of traditional family/marriage and indeed votes in like manner! etc etc.

    They may not be perfect. Indeed today, at times I may not be voting as much for them as I am against the Democratic Party! But until a better choice or party arises, my voting habits will continue to reflect my conscience as a Christian and with understanding of the issues.

    If you, want to believe you are being used such would apply to everyone! As few politicians ever live up to their hype! It is much like buying a car though. You know you're going to get the hype, but I would hope you know what you're getting in the end!:thumbsup:

    Take care, Ralph

    Me, too. But ever heard of the Log Cabin Republicans???

    Yes, I feel used by the Republican Party.

    We have a Republican in the WH, a Republican majority in the Senate and House, and there are still millions of unborn American citizens being sucked out of their mothers' wombs each and every day. So much for opposition to abortion. And so much for the Constitutional rights of the unborn.

    My mamma used to tell me that actions speak louder than words. IOW, talk is cheap.

    Looked like Conservatives could not have asked for more in the last 25 years. But the problem was trusting in a political party to end those problems, when they only have but so much power in the overall momentum of cultural morality. So they built platforms off of promises to Christians (cultural conservatives) and swayed elections in their favor, but now that they are in, you are finding out the hard way that yes, you were used!

    Until you change the hearts of Americans, nothing will change. Those people who are out there responsibly and respectfully opposing abortion by challenging people to think about it, are doing God's work.

    Congress is posing and pretending, but will never do anything.
