To answer the OP directly, illegals are NOT citizens of the United States of America. If they want entrance, it needs to be earned. How can they earn there way in, ... well I can make many suggestions.....IE Work & Pay programs, Induction into the Military, etc. But nobody should get a free pass. Like John Houseman said......do it the old fashioned way, EARN IT!

Agreed. Nobody wins when people are rewarded for breaking the law.

EW&F hit it out of the park...

That just about sums it up, in a nutshell. Amnesty is not earning it, but to listen to those who want amnesty to happen; they believe they deserve this, and so much more.

Whatever happened to working for what you desire, and following the rules of the land.

Amnesty is nothing more or nothing less than a government handout, and it is the EASY way out from something that is too politically damaging - to the party and individual political career - plus enforcing it would be something that would garner tons and tons of negative publicity from the media, and liberals wanting to give the nation away.

And while enforcing it would mean separating families, I have a suggestion. If those deported are concerned about the kids they may leave behind [Americans per the anchor baby laws], then by all means take the kids with you.

Maybe this will teach the children that the sins of their parents have consequences rather than government capitulation circumventing the laws and the intent of immigration laws of this nation...at the least, it would start to teach these children that they are in fact not entitled to things that NEVER belonged to them in the first place!

If it is wrong for illegals to take "anchor babies" back to the parent's country of origin, why isn't it wrong for USA citizens to take their children to reside in another country?

Why don't we hear outrage if an executive of a corporation takes his minor children to China to be near him at his new place of employment?

Unless I'm badly mistaken, in some divorce cases, USA courts will give custody to a parent of a minor child(ren), who will be taken to other countries to reside permanently.
