==That is an overly general statement. You can't use such broad language when talking about such a large and diverse group.

==That is confusing. You first say that Eph 1:13-14 is refering to the Spirit of Christ then you say that it is the Holy Spirit that seals the believer.

Either way, your division is unBiblical. The Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit of promise, and the Spirit of Christ is the same Spirit. The reason the Holy Spirit is referred to as the "Spirit of promise" in Eph 1:13-14 is because the Holy Spirit was promised by the Lord Jesus (Jn 14:16-18, 16:5:-15). His coming is a fulfillment of Scripture, a fulfillment of the promise of Christ to His church. The Holy Spirit is sometimes called the Spirit of Christ because the Father sent the Holy Spirit in Jesus' Name (Jn 14:25-26).

It seems that you need to do a more careful study on this matter. Don't just accept what someone is telling you (be it a pastor, teacher, or poster on Baptistboard). Do your own study prayerfully. Study His Word, rightly dividing the Word of Truth, so that you can show yourself to be a good steward of His Word.

==It would make things much easier if you would cite Scripture. I don't have time to try to figure out each reference. Jesus said that He would ask the Father "and He will" send the Spirit (Jn 14:16-18). He did not condition the coming of the Holy Spirit upon believers asking. Also, in John 7:39 Jesus makes it very clear that "those who believed in Him" would receive the Holy Spirit. This would happen once Jesus was "glorified" which is the case today (post-resurrection). So all believers receive the Holy Spirit when they believe. This is what Jesus taught in places like John 7:39 and what Paul taught in Eph. 1:13-14 (etc).

The idea that one must "ask" before he/she can receive the Holy Spirit is not Biblical. In fact, the Scriptures are clear that if one does not have the Holy Spirit one is lost (Rom 8:9-11, etc). Generally the confusing and false doctrine you are explaining is taught by the Pentecostal church. However there are some Baptist groups that teach it as well. Either way, you need to carefully study this out (far more than you have).

==That is an unBiblical statement (Jn 7:39, Eph 1:13-14).

==I'm not going to challenge the claim that you do healings, miracles, etc, however I will point out that Paul is clear that not all believers have all the gifts. The gifts of the Holy Spirit are different in each believer and it is the Holy Spirit, not the believer, who determines what believer has what gifts (1Cor 12). I would also point out that "doing miracles" is not a sign of salvation (Matt 7:21-23). Salvation is by grace through faith in Christ. Doing good deeds, or miracles, is no guarantee that one is saved. The only guarantee that one is saved is that they believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. What, who, are you trusting for your salvation?

==That Baptism of fire occurred at Pentecost. Today people recieve the Holy Spirit when they believer (per the teaching of Jesus and the Apostles).

==Where in the Bible does it say/teach that "at the moment of salvation a blue light appears in your spirit" and "when the fathers spirit comes to live in you a red light is seen"? Please provide chapter and verse.

This thread is NOT "Baptist" and espouses a oneness Pentecostal heresy. We ask Joseph NOT to post in "baptist-only" areas as his true theology is now evident.
