Based on his remarks and answers to questions concerning his "faith", I believe he is not a Christian and doesn't have a clue what it takes to be one nor what it means.

I have no reason to doubt Palin's Christianity at this time.

This is rather interesting. Since when did the BB become the authority on salvation?

Why does the U.S. spend more money per person?

Because the U.S. medical system provides equipment and treatments not available anywhere else or not as readily available anywhere else.

In many of the countries that you state have a superior system of health care many patients are sent home to wait and wait and wait and ultimately die without treatment.

Why do you think that so many people with money come to the U.S. for treatment instead of staying home to be treated by their supposed superior medical systems?

Read about Senator Obama's "faith" in his own words from before the whole presidential thing came about. This is very telling...

    GG:
    Do you believe in sin?

    OBAMA:

    Yes.

    GG:
    What is sin?

    OBAMA:

Being out of alignment with my values.

    GG:
What happens if you have sin in your life?

    OBAMA:

I think it’s the same thing as the question about heaven. In the same way that if I’m true to myself and my faith that that is its own reward, when I’m not true to it, it’s its own punishment.

The guy doesn't have a clue.

    Exactly. Sad.

Back to the OP, yes, I believe God has graciously given this country one more chance. At least I hope so. I have perfect peace about this election now that Sarah is on the ticket.

From the evidence I've seen so far, she may be the next Deborah (like in OT time). Check out the link about Deborah here:

    http://www.christianlibrary.org/authors/John_L_Kachelman_Jr/people-ot/deborah.htm

I see many similarities with Sarah Palin. And for those who whine about religion and politics, you might do well to read the story of Deborah in the OT.

Bingo. There are MANY who say that they're a Christian but it doesn't mean that God would say so too.

Why would Americans want to follow anything the Socialist France does?

How many people go from here to France to get healthcare?

Not nearly as many as come here from France to get it.

Let's not model anything after France. The country punishes hard work (a nationally-mandated 35-hour work week), rewards mediocrity, and has a train wreck of an economy. As Bible-boy put it, why would we want to model ourselves after them?

As with any source, also keep in mind...rankings always include bias. For instance, a UN-based organization will almost always have an anti-US bias...just as Southern Baptists don't rank Disney as its #1 tourist destination.

But promoting "rankings" means little to me, unless I can understand the agenda of the ones ranking.

Is healthcare in need of reforms? Yes.

Is government the answer? Well...the people who brought us FEMA, Congress, the IRS and it's incomprehensible Tax Code, antiquated traffic control and DMV computer systems, Walter Reed hosptital with its moldy walls and rodent problems.....no, government control is not the answer.

You're right. The Republicans simply cannot overcome Bush's record of the last 8 years. What a disaster!

Since her current church that she's been attending for a number of years does not believe that, nor has she stated that she believes that, I don't worry about it.

I'd have no problem with a "saved" Pentacostal VP. My problem with Sarah Palin is that her husband was a registered Alaskan Independent Party for almost 7 years. Their goal is to have Alaska become an independent nation (check out their FAQ's on their web site. Sarah addressed the AIP in 2006 and 2008( check this out on youtube). On 6/08 she said that "Our leaders are sending U.S.soldiers out on a task from God". Isn't that what the extermist Muslim terriost believe? Look at the pork barrel projects Alaska has received under Sarah Palin? Her first year as governor, she requested $550 million in federal money or about $800 for every person in Alaska. As mayor of Wasilla she obtained $27 million in federal money or about $3500 for every person in the town of about 8000. Talk about a pork barrel spender!!! Vote on the issues, but LOOK at all the facts.

You have sources for this, then please start another thread if you have concerns about SP. This one needs to stay on topic. BTW, welcome to the board.

It's amazing what lengths the lefties are going to --- going to her former church where she was raised as a kid??? Gimme a break.

This is a far cry from Obama's association with his pastor -- where he attended as an adult. Plus, the issue with J. Wright had nothing to do with the doctrine of the UCC, instead it was the pastor's anti-American beliefs and rantings.

Sarah Palin’s ties to Alaskan Independence Party are played down
    http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/la-na-aip3-2008sep03,0,6399468.story

The McCain campaign denies his running mate supports the party's separatist bent.
by Michael Finnegan, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer
    September 3, 2008

Tonight, Sarah Palin will be nominated as the Republican Party's choice for vice president of the United States.

But back home, she has cheered the work of a tiny party that long has pushed for a statewide vote on whether Alaska should secede from those same United States. And her husband, Todd, was a member of the party for seven years.

"Keep up the good work," Sarah Palin told members of the Alaskan Independence Party in a videotaped speech to their convention six months ago in Fairbanks. She wished the party luck on what she called its "inspiring convention."

The Alaskan Independence Party, founded in 1978, initially promoted "the Alaskan independence movement." But now, according to its website, "its primary goal is merely a vote on secession."

McCain campaign spokesman Tucker Bounds said Tuesday that Palin did not support splitting Alaska off from the rest of the country. He sidestepped the question of whether she favored a statewide vote on secession.
