On the basis of 1 Timothy 2:14, "Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression," is it fair to say that women are more readily deceived in spiritual matters?

    What do you think?

I think they are. Even worse if you can't sway them to your opinion they'll go drastic in moving their opinion even further from yours just to prove a point. LOL Much less stable than men are, much more changeable and much more likely to change due to an emotional appeal rather than a solid scriptural one. Men seem much more able to ignore personal emotions and pleas and go with the solid evidence.
It's all good though because they balance each other out. Men help women see the facts, women help men see how they apply and matter personally.

Well, you believe that NOW, but you're so easy to deceive you probably won't believe it tomorrow...

Notice the text please, it says Eve was decived, not that all women are decieved, or are more easily to decieve. I have yet to be decieved on anything, most especially spiritual/biblical matters. So please do not include me.

Don't think you can make that statement, donnA, because by definition, if you were deceived you wouldn't know it. ;)

It's saying just that: Eve was decieved, but Adam was not. It's not saying "all women" and "all men".

The sin of Adam, btw, was less about eating the forbidden fruit and more about not taking responsibility for his actions.

I'm not wise enough to discern that but, I know that in my case my wife is much more capable in the common sense department than I am.

"I had to buy those new golf clubs! I need them for my work."

    "No, Mom. I don't smoke!"
"The other kid I was with did it."

The tendancy is that women believe their man. If Adam had not lied to Eve and said if you TOUCH the fruit you will die -- when she touched it and did not die -- she was vonerable. She thought eating the fruit was a lie also. Maybe she thought God had lied to Adam. Because God did not tell her to not eat the fruit. He told Adam before Eve was created.

Adam did not lie to Eve.

Eve clearly repeats to the serpent what God had said to Adam. There was no deceit on Adams part. Sin entered after the fruit was eaten.
