Well it's my question, so I'm going to ask it.

Who are the Independent Fundamental Baptists on this board.

    I am. Anyone else?

I am an independent (unaffiliated), fundamental Baptist, but I don't consider myself a "Fundamentalist." To me that is merely a fairly modern subset of what used to be called Evanglelicalism. I am fundamental without being a Fundamentalist, as my wife is feminine without being a feminist! I am an Historic Baptist who has much in common with those who identify themselves as Fundamentalists, but don't consider the Fundamentalist Movement, in and of itself, to have any merit at all. It's only validity is in its articulated doctrinal positions. [IMG]

Okay, So I guess what your trying to say is that I should have said Fundamental instead of Fundamentalist... My mistake, I'm not good with labels... I was just wondering who proclaimed to be Fundamental because of the moderator thread. I couldn't think of anyone to nominate for the moderator job because I don't know who to pick from.

Count me in as a Fundamental Baptist. I'm pretty sure I could be considered a Fundamentalist as well.

I agree with the fundamentals of the faith. I am not by any means a fundamentalist however.

Like Doc C, I am more or less a Fundamentalist by default. My home church's basic systematic and practical theological positions haven't changed a lick since 1881. The world both ecclesiastical and secular has however changed. So, I wind up identifying myself as a Fundamentalist. [IMG]

Since the "Fundamentals" of the 19=895 Niagara Conference are the criteria, I am 100% a historic fundamentalist and independent Baptist.

BTW, the first of the fundamentals states that the ORIGINAL AUTOGRAPHS of the Bible were inspired, NOT an English translation.

This rules KJVO OUT as historic ifb'ers. They are a modern sub-sect that has sadly gone far beyond any semblance of fundamentalism.

So add one, and take away a couple from the list of those who can post on this forum . . [IMG]

Yes, I am not saying the KJV makes me any more or less of a fundie, I am merely stating it is the only Bible I will use. I feel better in a KJV church, and right now I have the luxery of choosing out of several IFB churches in my area, and chose a KJV one.

So can I still post here ?

I am a fundamental Baptist, and unashamed of it. I stand on the historic Baptist distinctives, believe in ecclesiastical and personal separation, and oppose the ecumenical, charismatic and new evangelical movements. I am a dispensationalist, and believe in a pre trib rapture and pre mill return of the Lord Jesus Christ!

I belong to an Independent Fundamental Baptist Church. I would consider myself to be a Fundamental Baptist. I do believe that there are others on this forum who would disagree that I am a traditional IFB because I listen to all types of what I consider Fundamental Baptist preachers. I also believe in personal separation from worldliness but do not take it to the extent of others. I am definitely not saying that others are wrong. This is just my personal belief on separation. I am not a fundamentalist. I am a Baptist Christian. I am, however, talking to some friends of mine who are fundamentalists about joining this forum. But, I am afraid that they think that just about all of you are too liberal and compromising for them. Who knows what might happen if they joined. All of you might have to leave... [IMG]
